I've been using both of them for about a week now, and they are both solid performers. Really, the only big differences are the switches and the adjustable 510 connections. I prefer the 510 on the ELA, but quite honestly, once they are set, the adjustment becomes irrelevant unless switching atomizers.

I was a little concerned about the button on the ELA, but on the V2 it sits flush with the bottom, unlike on the V1. The locking feature works nicely, but I don't use it unless I am going to tuck it into a pocket.

The buttons I'd call a tie. Although the design is different, they both have a nice, light, smooth throw, and I haven't had a single misfire.

I've run both down to 0.3 ohms (pretty much the bottom end of my comfort zone, until I get some 3 mg e-liquid, lol) and neither mech heats up unexpectedly.

I think both of these are a good purchase (especially the Workhorse at its price point).
Good to hear, thanks!

Honestly, i was a bit nervous about the switch since it is non locking but, you can set it upright on a flat surface and it does not fire. Now, sticking in your pocket like some do, im not so comfy with that. The praxis mod clone should be here today so hopefully that will rock as well. I do like the safety of the switch a bit better but the smpl is going to be hard to beat.

Agree. Don't have the smpl, but its brother, the 4nine. In 18350 these things are tiny!! But the non-locking switch its not smart to pocket it. So when I want something tiny when I'm out & about, use a stingray X, just a little larger than the 4nine & has the locking band on it.

I'm wondering what you guys keep in your pockets that cause mods with recessed switches to fire?
I can recall any recessed button mods ever auto firing on me, but I don't fill my pockets...in fact I never have anything except the mod in a pocket, because I don't want scratches on the finish.

Not recessed.... It's flush on my 4nine. And when using a button top battery, takes very little pressure or button movement to fire.

I've never had one fire in my pocket. But I can see how it can, so I don't pocket it. And for the cost of it, truly a beater mod, don't really care if it has scratches from keys or coins :)

With button top batteries, I can see the concern with a mod like the 4Nine. However, I only have flat top batteries and the throw is plenty long enough for me not to worry about it. I also only carry juice in the same pocket and I always make sure that is positioned beside my mod when I pocket it. I'm using the pouch that my Nemesis came with for an extra (very small) bit of protection.

Just thought I'd report back on my 4Nine and Rogue that I got recently. The atomizer is absolutely brilliant, though I still think it would be better for people who don't build quite as low as me, the sweet spot would probably be about .5-.6ohms for a sub ohm build. I still need to get a better drip tip with a wider bore and will probably pick up one of the friction fit tips from Cherry Vape soon which I think will make it even better. I also still really like the 4Nine, though I have found that the button isn't perfect. It never heats up or anything, but if I hit it at the wrong angle it just doesn't fire. If anyone has any tips to make that better, I'm all ears. It is just a minor complaint, for the price I paid I didn't even expect it to be as good as it is.

I've found cleaning the sides of the button every now & then really helps... When the brass patina started forming, wasn't working as good. I just dunk it under the faucet & use a pot scrubber brush. Also, take a close look at the magnet. On mine, the magnet is threaded into the plastic surrounding disc, & occasionally needs to be 're-centered'.

Thanks I'll try giving it a good cleaning this weekend. I've been fiddling with the adjustment of the firing pin on my atomizer and the plastic disk on the battery side of the magnet. The firing pin was too loose on my atomizer so I put a small o-ring on the firing pin to apply pressure when it is tightened so my battery doesn't cause it to screw in or out when I swap batteries. Now I need to find a good way to make the disk stay where I adjust it to for longer since it also needs adjusted every time take the mod apart and then put it back together.

Tugboat RDA clone by fasttech.
I paid $5 with the free shipping option, took 6 weeks to get here, but I am quite impressed.
The pieces fit snugly, finish is good and omg, the thing is a fog machine. Putting out the biggest clouds I have ever seen

Very excited right now. I have a hat trick of great devices in route to me. A Launcher V2 clone (my second) in route from FT. A EHPro Valkyrie clone from California and a WorkHorse Telescopic from Super-T! A public thank you to my beautiful wife for buying me the Workhorse telescopic to go with the fantastic Workhorse I already have :)

Mine can't, and won't. :)
It would be a shame not to partake of SMPL perfection for something that trivial.
