mech mod and batteries

Hello I have just gotten Kecig K100 from my dad and I am looking for legitimate batteries for it. I hear a lot about faces possibly getting blown off and im really trying to avoid that. I just purchased EH IMR 18650, 30amp, 1600mAh, Flat Top batteries and I am wondering if these are the safest to use? I read a lot about using protected batteries and just noticed that these are not protected. My question is what is the safest battery to use and are there any other ways to make this mod safer? Also, if im using the right battery is this protective chip necessary?

They are fine you don't need protected batteries you have IMR to which are safe chemistry.

Those EH 30 Amp 1600mah are really just re-wrapped Sony US18650VTC3s......which are a fantastic battery.

Also, make sure you have a good, safe charger. I recommend the EFest LUC v2 or v4 as they will charge at 2.0Amps. Since the VTCs are rated for a 10Amp continuous charge, they can take the 2.0Amp charge rate without breaking a sweat.

The rest is just math, double-checking, and awareness.

pretty sure its a pos one. Is it dangerous to have a cheap charger?
will this charger work for the batteries i purchased?
