So getting into mechanicals and wonder how do you know when battery needs to be charged. I am learning and getting prepared for the mech world and keep reading not to let the battery fully die. How do i check this and monitor.
May be slightly dependent on what set-up/resistance youre running but you'll generally begin to notice the drop in performance/vapor as the voltage begins to drop on the battery.
With dual coil drippers at around .8ohm, i usually seem to notice it and will switch out batteries when they get down to around 3.7-3.8v.
Yes, you will hurt your batteries if you let them get too low. The first few times you run the setup check the battery with your meter every hour. You will see the voltage drop quickly to around 3.9V and then take a lot longer to get to 3.7V. After that it goes down faster and faster. I try to change mine out at 3.7V minimum. As xtwosm0kesx said, you will notice the drop in performance as the voltage drops. After a few charge/discharge cycles you should have a pretty good idea of when you should check the voltage.
I've been changing batteries when my tank needs filled.. coming out
they will show 3.5 to 3.6 volts on my digital multimeter. That's after
consuming 2.5 ml of juice in a 2.4 ohm topper.. at 3.3 volts the flavor
drops off, so just made it a habit of switching topper and battery at
the same time..
As previously stated, you have to break in a new battery. It won't start to shine until the 10th or so cycle. NEVER let it die, or it will damage the cell and not recharge all the way/hold voltage as long. What batteries are you using OP?
