Hi everybody i am new here and i just bought the Stingray mod today after my Emech almost blew up yesterday. I Had just gotten my Russian 91% V2 tank yesterday aswell. I just got home and had the coil all setup and everything and popped it on the stingray to give it a hit. Well it started giving off a foul smell. So i stopped and the battery and tank heated up incredibly. And the 510 Connector smelled so bad. I decided to put my Subtank+ On it and it was perfectly fine. No smell,Hit amazingly. I have no clue what happened with the Russian. Any help please?

Hmm... The screw is discolored so there was definitely something making an arc in there... Did you maybe drop a tiny piece of coil wire in the top of the mod when you were putting it back together? Something is touching the screw and the side of the 510 threads. Or that insulator is damaged. Is the pin on the top of the mod blackened like the one on the tank?

@Baditude Are you still watching? I'm going to have to log out in about 20 mins. Maybe you have more time to help?

The smell may have been the insulator melting. I don't think juice had a part in it. Did you notice what color the insulator was when you got it? Most of them are teflon which is white. Is it white on the other end where it comes through the deck?

Although it hasn't happened to me, it sounds like the insulator melted from an internal short in the Russian. Maybe Google "insulator melted in Russian or Kayfun" and see what you find.

I have a Russian v2 as well...the positive post like to spin unless you tighten it down with the little tool they sent. this could cause a short if it spun and touched something it wasn't supposed to. I had to use a pair of pliers to hold it while I tightened it on the bottom
