I'm currently using my topside dual with a goon 1.5

So my profile eventually will go on the topside and my goon on a mech

The clamps have a margin (moving left-right) and when installing a new build you may end positive and negative clamp are touching together. That is a hard short, and you don't want to happen using a mech.I have the Goon 1.5 and believe me,i know what I'm saying.

Can I ask what you are on about cause surely the centre pin is positive and the body is negative so in the case of a coil on my goon that was good enough for a regulated mod might not be for a mech, I'm having a hard time to understand what you mean by clamps ect, please explain cause I need to know before I start this mech stuff

I'm not greek mule, but I just had a look at the rda and I think I know what he means. If this is the atty you have, the wire clamp plates seem to have enough clearance in the screw holes so if you get both plates as close together as you can and clamp them they can touch.

@greek mule, please correct me if I got that wrong.

Exactly this is what I was meaning. It happen to me once and I saw a spark at the point the two clamps were touching.(I was starting dry burn new coils).

Most of the newer mechs you'll see out there are 20700/21700 mods. Most of the 18650 mods you'll see are clones. You can always use an adapter for a 2x700 mod. That being said I would recommend a Vindicator. You need to make sure your atty has a protruding 510. There are alot of nice mech mods out there. Good luck on your search.
The Goon 1.5 is a good choice for a mech mod. I have no experience with 20700. I only use 25R 18650s and 30T 21700s.
You and I are just agreeing about everything today :D

Yes, the Vindicator is not only an awesome mod in general, but is a great choice for a beginner due to the simplicity of the design and practically foolproof reliability. High end, low cost (relatively).

Also yes, the Goons, including the 1.5 are perfectly suited to mech tubes.
