My IPV2 is mess as well and I've never even used it for more than a couple of drags off of an old kayfun with a 1 ohm build. It incorrectly identifies resistances to the point that anything close to the minimum gives me a low resistance message and won't fire. So it's a paperweight. However the new IPV3 is really something. While I hate the bulk and love the praxis, I really sold it short. It's a powerhouse that my mech can only compete with on a full battery. As the day drew on, the devices quickly separated themselves. Both can choke me with vapor, but IPV3 wants me dead lol. While many take the stance of Harley vs. <insert your favorite Japanese bike term>, any serious vaper should have both.

Guess I am the opposite. Cut my teeth on mechs, but got an ipv2 and now my mechs are mostly on emergency reserve
status.

No issues with the ipv2. I spilled some juice on a button and jammed it, but that was my fault and an easy fix.

I still love the simplicity and sheer ruggedness of mechs, but I also really like getting the same hit time and time again.
USB charging is a nice perk too.

For me, USB chargers are no more convenient, as long as Nitecore 18650 chargers are dirt cheap and have 12v cords included. Convenience is being able to go from a dead batt to a fully charged one in a few seconds. The USB charging aspect of my old ego batts was the one thing I hated the most about them. They took forever to charge, and are out of commission until they're done. Does the IPV2 take long to charge? Can it charge quicker from a 2.1A (tablet) charger or is the charging circuit current-limited like an iPhone?

Two opposing magnets are used to take the place of the spring. That takes away some of the "crunchiness" typically plaguing the switch in these mods. Before you resort to it I recommend deburring the sharp corners out the housing, adding a tiny amount of dielectric grease and see if that doesn't smooth things out first.

My latest copper Nemesis has a delrin ring in the switch that was mounted a tiny bit c0ck-eyed, from the factory. It just didn't fit around the copper switch's shaft at all. Whenever I twisted the switch up against the battery, it would shift the whole switch, making it c0ck-eyed, and super-crunchy. 5 minutes with a file around the inside diameter of that delrin ring and it was butter. Just remember there is no quality control in China. You gotta do it at home.

edit: really, I can't say c0ck? :)

C0ck a doodle doo.

I've been eying that FT Nemesis copper clone. What do you think? Worthy of a cocked trigger?

Right now, I'm thoroughly loving my FT Sentinel M16 brass. I'd like to experience a magnet switch at some point though the spring in this bad boy just plain works.

I started vaping a few months ago with the IPv2 and Mutation X / Kayfun 3.1 clone. Then, a few weeks ago, I ordered a Sentinel M16 clone from FT. $11.

I figured hey I might as well try one so I can ease my mind and know that it's inferior to my IPv2. It's only $11 - nothing to lose.

I haven't touched my IPv2 since the M16 arrived. I love it! Super solid, great form factor and it just plain WORKS. No fidgeting with power settings, power locks, computer chips, etc. It's built like a tank, feels awesome and looks awesome IMO.

Has anyone else made a similar jump?

All hail MECHS. =]

save up dude....wait til you try an quality authentic mechanical....i have my preferences, i'm sure you'll find yours..
P.S. it'll be a lot cheaper in the long run if you look long and hard at the really good stuff and then drop coin. JMO

Very poor times ahead of me - both my wife and I beginning our life together and 2 stepsons. I am in school with a crappy job trying to work my way up so the money just isnt there for an authentic. Maybe someday.
