Mech only works loose or upside down

Recently acquired an Arachnid and it worked fine for the first few minutes with my rda. After trying other rda's I noticed it wouldn't fire unless its too loose to use or its upside down. Weird issue I know but its a true story. Any insight at all?

Did you adjust the pins to make sure it was making connection with the battery? Did you clean the button? All the moving parts that make it work?

Does it have a magnet or a spring? Magnets might be broken.

Yup. The odd thing to me is that it only works when everything is actually loose. Its a spring.

We have a panzer 26650 that's like that. That's the very reason we don't use it too. I hate battery rattle lol

This isnt just battery rattle though. Its literally ready to fall apart its so loose when it actually works. It was fine the first few minutes. Was actually pretty quiet when shook.

I know. Its like the opposite of everything. Rather than pins not being adjusted to make proper contact..... its as if pins being properly adjusted making contact is the cause!

Make sure that top cap pin's threads are clean. What do you clean it with? Where do you usually position it, backed out some, or all the way in? I couldn't say without my hands on it, but I would think a telescopic mod would allow you to install it all the way in, which would be best for max current draw.

I use rubbing alcohol but I literally just opened it before I ran into the issue. Fired it about five times maybe. I'm thinking its the spring. The lock on this thing is funky in that it catches tight and jams really easy and is a pain to get to screw back and forth. I'm wondering if I did something to the spring but I cant get the switch apart to check it out.

It's possible that the spring is bad. Take the button apart and clean the spring, check it for springiness (not sure that's a word). Then put her back together and see what your workin with

So this here is my gold plated spring and judging from a YouTube review it should be much taller than this.....and much golder. Anyone know where I can get these type of springs? I checked Madvapes.com and they only have the cone shaped ones.

I won it in a raffle so its not like I am out anything and can complain at all.

Any steel, brass, copper spring will
Work.
Home Depot, auto parts store, etc.

The problem probably lies in the firing mechanism.
Disassemble the switch and re assemble taking care to observe the action of the button to be sure it's doing it's Jon and making contact with the bottom of the battery.
Install the switch and separate the top and bottom tubes.
Drop the battery in.
Fire the button and feel to be sure it's making contact.
If all is well, attach top part of mod and atty, making sure everything has a solid tight contact with the battery.
Fire the mod.
If it still doesn't fire, it's most likely cursed by a demon from hell.
Toss it or call a priest.

Thanks! I figured out what it was. The demon from hell had taken form of an adapter that was manipulating the crappy insulator on a Kanger tank to do his dirty work. I grabbed it from the B&M the other day. I ran my RDA's and the two tanks I used on a ohms reader and they all checked out then it dawned on me to test the adapter. SHORT! Not sure how it got so hot to warp the spring like it did without feeling it. Luckily I'll need no priest, that might work in reverse knowing me.

If I had known you were using a kanger tank I would have told you to start there.
They are cheaply made and have horrible quality control.
RBAs ..... You'll never buy a kanger again.

I enjoy my Kangers most as far as clearos go. I only have issues here and there when I get a batch of atty heads that have that very soft insulator and even then its only an issue with this adapter. I had more issues with Aspire than anything.

I got this Arachnid and an Exthermal in a raffle and this Exthermal is so so aesthetically but it hits pretty hard hard for some reason.
