Okay so the number one thing i have found helpful when vaping is to learn as much as possible, and thanks to everyone on the forums and my own cautiousness i am concerned (rightfully so) with damaging my batteries/face/hands so i want to keep it safe and ask a bunch of questions before i get started in the mech world. I have read a lot on the topics im going to ask about but i just want to ask and get some answers from people so i can maybe ask follow ups or something... blah blah blah okay here we go:

thinking about getting the nemesis clone by hcigar from vaporworld.biz ... first and foremost: good choice? what about the price on that link, decent? from what i've found it is...

also i already have this 18650 Panasonic 3400 mAh Battery. would this battery suffice as a starter? i currently use it in my zmax v5 and it works like a champ.

okay so the tech stuff... if i want to determine what is going on inside my gear i use this site to avoid calculations by hand/in head: Ohm's Law Calculator

on my zmax i have all the readouts i could want but in this mech mod i know i will be busting out my multimeter and the aboved mentioned site. so what two values will i know? battery voltage and resistance right? so say if i have my battery fully charged which usually reads 4.2 and i have a microcoil in rda that is resisting at 1.5ohms then my output will be 11.76 watts pulling 2.8Amps out of my battery? and what about when i go subohm same calculations? should i get this battery: IMR 18650 1600mah Efest Battery - 30 Amp High Drain -Flat Top [2095] : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes to cover my amperage requirements with a NICE saftey cushion?

okay now before i ask too much at once and get even more confused (too late?) ill let the answering commence! thanks yall

The nemmy is a great choice.
Not a bad price either.
If 101vape still has them in stock, you can get the same thing for 30bux. But they sell out quick.
That battery you linked to did not fit in my nemmy.
I have not been able to fit any protected batteries in my nemesis either. They are too big in diameter.
The efest batteries are OK. I have a few of them.
RTD vapor has AW, Efest,Sony and other cells. One stop for shop for your 18650 and 18350 you need.
I personally use illumination supply for my batteries.
I have been using the Sony VTC3 and VTC4 cells. they are high drain, but are not IMR safe chemistry.
If you wanna stay with safe chemistry cells, stick with the AW or Efest cells.
I always do my calculations with 4.2v. Even though under load it will drop a bit, and after use voltage will decrease. I want to know the max that I am pulling. Even if it is only for a few pulls.
I personally like to only use about half of what my battery is rated for.
You don't want to pull 10 amps on a battery that is rated for 10. i always want some safety room/overhead.
Just my opinion.

Good choice on the mod.

Those Panasonic's are protected batteries, definitely not recommended for a mech.

The 30 amp efests are fine I'm sure, but there are other options. Check out the Sony US18650VTC4 and Samsung INR18650-20R. Read Baditude's blog for more recommendations.
I'll second that; I just posted in another thread that those Sony batteries are the ones I use when sub-ohming.

THIS ^^^^ great advice, always leave plenty of excess overhead when figuring the amps.
It's for the same reason you don't run your car at redline constantly going down the highway.....:)

Sorry, I really have to cut in about purchasing clones.

When purchasing battery mods What is most important to look for is the firing pins.
I bought a nemmy clone out of haste when I was a newb. Semi mistake.

I also own a Genuine Grand Vapor M16. It has silver plated Copper pins.
I have the HCigar version of the SS private V2 which has pure silver pins.

I metered both of them on different batteries (imr, ncr, vtc) under different loads with different atty resistances. Hi, Low, Med.
This experiment took about 20 minutes of screwing and unscrewing. The results? SAME READ OUTS. EXACT SAME.

I tried again with my nemmy clone. My clone fired lower on all tests. Why?
Because my nemmy has stainless pins.

Moral of this story: Its not important where its from. China, USA, Hcigar, TOBECO, Momma's Oven, Your backyard dog house.
Make sure the firing pins are silver plated. or made of copper to ensure the mod hits proper.

My brass nemi from FT has silver plated pins

yes that's very nice Ralph, but today we're here to help others. Now please take your seat and maybe later we can pass it around the class.

I'm kidding Spooky.

So whatever site you want to purchase your nemesis from, Check the specs of the pins. If they don't say it on the site then ask the shop owner before you buy.

FastTech is a good idea because they usually say so in the description. So you can try where spooky got his.

alright, i have some reading to do. i will definatly check out the firing pins, silver huh? very good to know.

do most of the nemesis clones come with all the different tubes? i will of course ask whichever supplier if they in fact supply the tubes but i was wondering if it was common place, and does anyone know of a site where i can buy the tubes seperate? ive heard that the genuine parts fit on the clone but not the other way around so maybe i could buy tubes for a genuine and hope they fit if the place i buy it doesnt come with the extra tubes. i like the idea of throwing a little atty on the nemmy in 350 mode and having an sneak device for on the go.

cool, just made sure the hcigar nemesis clone from vaporworld.biz that i am eyeing comes with the silver plated contacts, i really like that supplier so this makes me happy. now amazon for some of those sony 18650's and some heavy reading i think i should be ready to get started.

right now i am wrapping 11 wrap micro coil of 28AWG kanthal around a very small (dont know the exact size) drill bit to get about 1.4 ohms... any suggestions to get best micro coil or should sticking with that setup do me pretty good and just wrap less to go down in ohms ?

okay one more question for now: hot springs? i see this site that im on has some hot springs, should i get one? i suppose i'll ask first, does the nemesis clone have hot springs (maybe ill ask the supplier too)? as i understand it they are a safety backup to prevent total catastrophe but should not be relied upon to completely protect someone who is just being dumb lol am i right? i think that would be my first "safety" feature and maybe later get a kick 2 or something when i have the money and dont want to subohm... i lied, one more question haha: kicks? are they just for staying in a safe window of wattage?

What is the rush to go down in ohms? Slow down, perfect your technique with normal resistance coil builds before going to sub-ohm. The lower you go in resistance, the more danger you introduce to your setup.

What batteries did you get? Will they have the amps needed for sub-ohm builds? The advice previously given about having "head room" for safety was excellent advice.

Research, and then do more research. The Rebuildable Sub-Forum here has a ton of information. YouTube has a multitude of videos showing how to make any variety of coil builds.

well, i guess it's a bit of a rush, but ive been pushing my zmax to its minimum ohm requirements of about 1.3 and i just dont want to be limited when playing with new coils. i guess describing my want to go "sub-ohm" was a bit of a misnomer because the fact that its sub doesnt matter as much as the freedom to do so if i so wish. i have been getting some great vape with my current set up but i just have that pressing issue that when making a coil i have constraints. it boils down more to a libertarian mindset rather then cloud chasing i guess lol.

no battery ordered yet but i think im going with the either the sony us18650vtc4 or the efest 30A highdrain 18650. i know the latter is safer chemistry so i may go with that. what do you think? i just researched for the second big blow out (the first being when you schooled me when i first got my zmax lol) and i THINK i have ample (lol pun intended) about of info on batteries to get that option open. havent ordered yet and there will undoubtedly be many more nights of reading before i actually press the confirm order button :)

thanks baditude you have helped me a lot

Quite honestly, that 1.4 ohm coil should give you very nice performance. I have a 1.5 ohm microcoil in my Scar right now, and it's performing wonderfully. I'm guessing that drill bit is somewhere around 1.5mm - 1/16" - because you're about 0.1 ohms off from what I'm getting with 1/16" 11-wrap 28g microcoil.

okay one more question for now: hot springs? i see this site that im on has some hot springs, should i get one? i suppose i'll ask first, does the nemesis clone have hot springs (maybe ill ask the supplier too)? as i understand it they are a safety backup to prevent total catastrophe but should not be relied upon to completely protect someone who is just being dumb lol am i right? i think that would be my first "safety" feature and maybe later get a kick 2 or something when i have the money and dont want to subohm... i lied, one more question haha: kicks? are they just for staying in a safe window of wattage?

Hot springs (to me) are like air bags. Good to have, but you don't want to have to rely on them, so being a safer driver (or safer vaper) is better than heating a spring to the point of failure. And yes, they're kinda like that last-ditch "you really screwed up" safety interlock.

Kicks? I have a "real" Kick2 (15 watt limit) and two Chinese knock-offs (12 watt limit). They're nice in that with the right topper, they give you the performance and consistency of a regulated mod on a mech - but they do have their limits.
