I want to find a mechanical mod with the following characteristics:

1. Stainless Steel construction.
2. Different tubes for battery sizes, not telescopic.
3. Kickable with all battery sizes (18650 specifically). Bump this one to #1.
4. Preferably under $100. :) Not an absolute requirement tho, I can afford a higher price but don't want jewelry; boutique items usually are.
5. Available. Don't want a two year queue.
6. Available from a vendor that ships to Mexico (like FT). For reasons hard to fathom a high majority of USA vendors do not ship to Mexico.

Thanks guys! You give me very good tips. I wasn't aware of a new Magneto top cap; mine is pretty new btw and it has the adjustable center pin, but no, it cannot fit a Kick and a 18650. Nearly 2cm short.

I'll check the King and the Tree again. When I did I was under the impression they came short on the 18650+Kick dimensions. Both are beautiful and the prices all right.

Loopy, first time I've heard about the Gaia. I'll google for it. Any features that made you choose it?

elprup, I'm quite aware of the manufacturer differences. You have to be very careful about that and I usually avoid the cheaper chromed brass items. Actually, I've been dragging my feet about taking some pics of the differences a few dollars can make. This time between a $31 vs a $16 Kfun 31 clone. Huge! Yours is a very wise heads-up and much appreciated.

Back with more q's once I've ogled the recos. Many thanks!

When dealing with kicks i find having it fit the mod is not the only thing to think about.
You also want to be able to change batteries easily without having to remove the kick from the tube every time, which is a pain.
And you want to keep an easy access to the kick to finetune the power settings (IE you don't want it in the bottom of the tube with a reversed battery.)
A nemesis will give you that because the kick will sit in its own little tube just under the top cap. So you just unscrew under this tube to change the battery, screw again and you're good to go.

Also iMO a kicked 18650 seems great on paper but that makes a really big mod.
Additionally IIRC I couldn't get the nemesis to not autofire when sitting in this configuration with a kayfun, way too bulky. That might just be me who lacked experience with the neme at the time though.

And a real nemesis is certainly worth the money if you've got it, but the clones are good, even the FT ones.

That depends on where you got your clone and the spring they included. I can stand my Hcigar Nemesis on the button with a Kayfun 3.1 on top without it firing.

And as for the size of the Nemesis with an 18650 and Kick/Kick2...

It's still 2 inches shorter than an Innokin SVD.

Oops! A sobering reply... Thanks cracoucax.

OK, I'll check them. Can you point me to the genuine article to compare with FT's?

No prob, there. It will be, basically, a sit at desk one.

I'll take a good look at them.

Hey Diving. The Gaia will be my first Mech Mod. I chose it because it has the flexibilty of using the Kick2 or not and because I thought it looked really cool!!!

Loopy, they are truly beautiful! Well, at 120€ plus 12€ for the kick extension they better be... I've been punching holes in my wallet with vaping hardware, materials, juices and DIY juice ingredients. I'll have to "let the cloud gather more water" as we say arround here. US$30 (S&H included) is change; US$183 plus S&H is an expense. I might get one but that will wait a bit. BTW, I couldn't help noticing they were by appointment when they came out but now they're on sale? Guess the customers didn't line up as expected or what?

the only thing is be careful with clones. There are huge variations in build quality with different manufacturers of the same clone.

elprup, what do you think of this one?... It seems to be the better one of the "Nemesis Style" group in FT.

Who made the original and is it still available? I doubt I'd want to splurge for a real one (a Russian would precede it).

OTOH, as I well know, there are clones and then there are clones. The Kayfun replica from FT is near perfect while the other I got from e-liquid.cn is a sieve; can you suggest a better clone than the one linked above?

Get a magnetic button. I don't even use the lock on mine because the magnet requires a good force to fire. :)

MOST of the time fasttech has at least decent quality. I would read the reviews on this particular one as the manufacturer isn't listed that I saw. atmomixani i believe made the original. It is pricey and hard to find in stock, as most "authentic" mods are.

elprup, I want a magnetic button! The linked page doesn't say if this "styled" mod has one or not. On the same page they sell magnets and I added the only ones available (a 10 pack, $2.xx) to my cart. What does that mean, one can "upgrade" the thing to mags, or what? Are they replacements? Never heard of a magnet "wearing out"... Well, at least the ferrite ones don't.

A link to the real Nemesis? A better clone?

There are a couple mods now that come standard with magnetic firing button. Alot of the older mods have "add-on" kits that can be used to put magnets in the existing button, or replace the button with a magnetic one. Magnets don't wear out but can become demagnetized in some circumstances
