I like "3.7 volt" mechanical devices because they are pretty much "bulletproof" and easy to troubleshoot on the rare occasions that they act up.

I quoted 3.7 volt because most 3.7V devices can do 4.8 / 6.4/ 7.4 V -- plus you can also use different atty/carto resistances. The key is to use the proper batteries (no primary cells, use protected cells (or IMR"safer chemistry" cells"), proper diligence in care and charging (never overdischarge or over charge !), and use a device that is properly designed ( master off switch, proper venting, etc).

Keep in mind that things like the eGo Twist are fairly new technology. They didn't exist a few years ago...but mechanical mods did. They're kind of like looking at a typewriter now, sure, you can write on a typewriter...but why?

In all reality though, the mechanical mods are very solid, seldom break, and last forever. If you own one, you'll always have a good back-up, if nothing else.

I bought a puresmoker legacy a few months ago. The thing is rock solid. There are no wires, no way to short the thing out and it's pretty damn near indestructable. I have a kick in the it now but even prior to that I was using a carto tank with some 1.7 ohm cartos inside and it was more or less a fog machine.

I don't really even know why I got the kick. 3.7v is really plenty of power if you use the proper cartomizer/atomizer. The legacy holds and came with a 2200 mah battery. It last me almost 3 days. I don't know why more people don't own a heavy duty mechanial tube mod. I've got a few VV devices and to be honest with you, I don't see what all the fuss is about. On most juices, you can duplicate pretty close the wattage numbers with the right carto and the taste changes are very minimal.
