Hey all,
I've done a bit of searching but cant seem to find what I'm looking for-
Is there some sort of maintenance "primer" for mechanicals? I recently got a k100 and want to keep it running great.
I know about Noalox (dont have any yet). I suppose I'm looking for info about proper cleaning techniques to remove any oxidation that might accrue (alcohol? water? solvent? abrasive? brass or nylon brush?), and any other problem that I dont know about yet :)
thanks

What I do to keep my battery contacts clean is toothpaste and a paper towel. Just put a little dab on the towel and start rubbing it on the contacts. The toothpaste has just enough abrasive in it to polish up the brass and gold contacts and get any oxidation off of them. For the rest of the mod I use a cheap ultrasonic cleaner to clean any e-juice or other grime off of my stuff.

I've never considered anything getting oxidized. I guess if the brass in my Legacy gets some, i'll just take some automotive sandpaper or other light abrasive to it.
Other than that, you want to keep the threads clean, for dry dirt does not make a good conductor. And the Noalox is real easy to work with, and gain tips and tricks through it's use.

Mechs are great!
