Hello everyone,

I'm looking to get a mechanical mini and want some input. I want to get a reliable, small, mechanical mod that would be good for stealthy vaping. I have a sigelei zmax and I love it, but I need something smaller for certain situations where vaping would be not highly encouraged. Maybe something that takes an 18350 or one of those 14500 batteries....tube shaped, not box...i just don't like the box mods for some reason. What's a good one that won't cost me as much as a vv mod.

This is a nice little semi-mechanical. That is, it's "mechanical" but it does have a wire in the switch. Sturdy and small. Uses a 18350.
http://www.smokerevolt.com/18350MiniTube Or you could go with the Joyetech eGo T Mod with the small (18350) tube Genuine Joyetech 18350 Mod Tube Not really "mechanical" but does have the option to run regulated 3.4 eGo level or unregulated with the upgrade control head. The best for stealth is the 3.7 Gripper Gripper also "semi mechanical". But it's not a tube mod, although it's awesome IMHO. I'll vouch for all of them. I have them all.

Oh yeah..and the telescope in the 18350 is very small. I have a LavaFire also which is a true fully mechanical and it's reasonably small in the 18350 mode, but it's not as tiny as the others, and it's very heavy.

Here's a pic of the telescope in 18350 mode next to a 650mah ego. Any of these telescope style devices would suit your needs in 18350 mode.

Or you could wait for the new SmokTech Natural, a new mechanical tube device that will be hitting the shelves shortly. It's in the GG style, looks well made:

What are you going to use on the mod? If you are wanting stealth, I am assuming a cartomiser or plain atomizer.

While it may not be cheap, the GLV-2 Super Mini is a great mod, and the detonator style makes it easy
to use while hidden in the palm of the hand.

It is built like a tank and IMO well worth every penny. It comes with a lifetime guarantee and great
customer service.

It is available in many great colors. I recommend getting the clear coat.

Nice - can you use an 18350 with that?

I saw that the natural is going to be rolled out soon. Does anyone have any idea when we will be able to order it? I like that it's in the GG style...I just can't bring myself to pay the price they want for the GG (although it does look awesome).

Haven't heard of a date that anyone will be stocking it. I'm not a verified member so I can't confirm this for sure, but I heard there is a co-op going on for this one.

How do you like that lavafire? If you have the little squire model, how does it compare? I was looking at the ggts but I feel like that would be paying for the name.

The LavaFire is an extremely well built, solid and heavy device. It's copper with chrome electroplating.which is perhaps it's only drawback (not stainless). But otherwise, it's screams quality and is virtually indestructible. All parts come apart...all of them, including the connector. No press-fitted parts at all. It is totally mechanical. There is nothing in there to break. The spring is a spring...but can be replaced if something happens to it. I've banged mine around quite a bit and so far the finish is holding up well. No scratches or discoloration. My personal opinion is that it's an excellent APV. More than worth the money. The version I'm referring to is the "Rocket" one...the one with the bands around it and the 510/eGo connector.

The Squire is basically a "mini-Indulgence clone". It's light, feels, good in the hand and performs exactly as it should. The battery might rattle a bit (especially flat tops) but it works great. Clicky button that fires every time. I love mine and use it a lot when I want something smaller and lighter. It's a "budget mod"...not high end. But one I'm very glad I got and I'm pleased with it's performance.

As for the 3.7 Gripper...it's a solid little workhorse that feels good in the hand and works like a champ. You CAN use tanks on it with the extender piece (sold separately). A tip with using tanks and the extension: cut a tube from an old "condom" (the plastic bootie that comes on cartomizers) and slip it on the top of the extension when installed in the Gripper, put a eGo tank adapter sleeve on then put the tank on (if using carto tanks. I think most clearomizers won't need this) to help stabilize the set up. I really love mine. I do mostly use it for stealth, however...with a XL cartomizer. Very good when you don't want to be observed vaping in public places that might take exception to such things.

I'm liking the lavafire! That and the new natural. I was thinking about the thelescope, but I saw that the button is made shoddy. I might go ahead and try that squire though simply because it's mad cheap. It would make a good backup and I have a friend that wants to switch to vaping and it looks like a good budget starter (even if you include batts, charger, and tank).

Just for grins, here is a picture of 4 of my APVs in the 18350 configuration. Left to right is LavaFire, Joye eGo T Mod w/mini-tube, Squire and far right is the 3.7 Gripper with the extension attached. Gives you an idea to size.
