i vaped until it didn't vape anymore, then i took the mech mod apart

the firing pin (made of copper had green liquid on it)

the negative part of the battery where the firing pin touched had a burn in of copper in it)

whats going on? i shorted? using a clt infinite v2 plus, i checked the ohms a few times on an ohm meter, it reads .65 consistent, but after 10-20 pulls, this happens

third pic, there is a brown section starting form the negative post... wth?

okay ... i checked the atty, it was .65... i vaped it alittle and it shorted... then i checked the atty again, its all over the place now (wth lol) i shorted my mech... firing button melted a little bit, scrapped it off with an flat mini screwdriver, has scratch marks on the firing pin now,
i tried recharging the battery (bad idea i know) but it was completely cool so i checked to see if it would charge, it charged fine

after cleaning the firing pin, i actually used the same battery with an aspire nautilus, vaped fine....but definitely wont use this battery with my rba anymore

two main questions:
a. battery is not hot, but according to the third picture, there is a very noticeable brown spot behind the green insulator, is the battery no good? usable? throw it away? what should i do with it, seems like it charges fine and it still works

b. is the mech usable? do i need a new firing pin? or its fine even though i scrapped a small layer off?

thank you!

You didn't mention what type of battery it is, and it isn't labeled. I'm not familiar enough with the brands to try and figure that out by a picture.

The general advice is that even if you're going to buy a cheap mod, you shouldn't skimp on the batteries. That's the dangerous part. Buy AW IMR cells, or the Sony VTC5s, or something along those lines. The peace of mind that you have a good battery is well worth the few extra dollars.

I'm not sure what the green liquid could be, I'm assuming that your mod is sealed and juice couldn't get in there?

Typically, you'll see some slightly blackened spots where the battery meets metal, green could be because you said your firing pin is copper. That's what happens when copper oxidizes (Look at the statue of liberty). Where as the black on the stainless of most firing pins is sort of the same idea.

Use some emery cloth and clean up that button contact and discard the battery. It's not worth trying to salvage the battery and in fact it could be dangerous. Buy good quality batteries such as Sony or Panasonic. Don't take chances with no name batteries. Make sure you adjust the MOD to make good contact with the terminals. If the battery rattles inside the MOD it needs to be adjusted to insure good contact. A loose fit will cause the battery to spark and pit as you are seeing. The darkness on the side of the battery would indicate to me that the battery is over heating. Also in the first picture the contact looks like its bulging which also indicates that the battery has expanded from excessive over heating. I would check the RBA to make sure the build is not shorted or reading an unusually low ohm that could be causing a very high current draw on the battery. That my friend is inviting a battery especially a cheap no name battery to explode.
