Alright so check it out everypony. I'm in the market for a tough mechanical mod that I can use when I'm working outside. I'd like something telescopic so I'll have battery options. My charger can charge 18650, 18500, and 18490 batteries. I found an ohms law calculator online so I'll have an idea of my output anyway! But as I shop around on many of the vapor sites and EBay, I gotta say that I'm more confused than ever! Any suggestions?

Spend the money , get a REO Grand and an RM2 to go on top and you'll never regret it .

Regardless of what you end up with, try to make intelligent choices as far as safety when choosing a mech.
If this will be your first mech, I recommend avoiding what is known as a direct battery or faux hybrid mod, or one which uses a hybrid top cap. These mods have no center pin, and the battery makes direct physical contact with the atomizer's 510 connector. One must use special 510 connection atomizers to use them safely on a direct battery mod; they must have an extended center pin like the two atomizers on the left (below image).
A mech "should" have adequate ventilation holes in case a battery vents. Inadequate ventilation can cause a mechanical mod to become a pipe bomb.

They are still in business, but Rob (the owner) has been cutting back his hours in a semi-retirement. About two months ago I had ordered a Reomizer RDA for my Reo and the top cap didn't fit properly when it was received. I contacted him via phone and he said send it back and he'd fix me up, which he did promptly.

Ive heard so many stories from Rob its hard to understand whats really going on.
Retirement? China? Who knows.
Theres a thread here that stopped me cold from ordering a REO a while back.

There are some things about that post that I find a little questionable , it seems like the poster is trying to say he didn't notice the defects until the warranty period had expired due to problems with his/her eyesight and wanted the repairs done under warranty for that reason , maybe I'm not comprehending it correctly , but the OP doesn't state what the issues were either . Not enough info to go on IMO . I do know that Rob has had a stellar reputation for customer service , and my personal experience with Reos Mods leads me to recommend them highly , especially for use in a work enviroment . Don't get me wrong , I'm not a fanbois and I usually find most original vape gear overpriced and I won't hesitate to purchase a clone , but my Reo was actually worth the money I spent on it IMHO .
i'm using a clone sub-zero shorty, not sure if its tough,
but in the 1 month i've been using it, i have never had to clean the contacts!
that was the one negative i had with mech mods
for tough mech mods, i would avoid magnetic switches, seen afew reports on the magnet breaking when dropped

My go to mech right now is an EHPRO Caravela. It is however 23mm so you won't get the prefect seamless fit if using 22mm tanks and attys. I like it with the Isub S tank which is 23mm so it has a perfect fit.
