SO like many people i want to get into mechanical mods, since I started using my rbas. I know a lot about regulated devices, I have been educating myself on Mechs. It seems its about looks, voltage drop, durability. The voltage drop coming from design(contacts) and not enough brass ect. Im looking for a cheap mechanical that has a high voltage retention rate and is small, and CHEAP I think a lot of people would be interested in this. I have been researching, the chinese gg,the k100,the draw tube ,sigeli clones.,out of all of these it seems the k100 and drawtube seem to hit the hardest. i want it to hit hard and be cheap help educate me, and convert me to the mech side!!
MECH LOVERS CHIME IN!!

I dont mind a little sanding to expose brass to buy a cheaper 1 to mod a bit.,i want all brass baby, and ss !

ive heard mixed reviews on the siegelis being chrome plated, button issues, and voltage drop, everyone agrees the k100 hits like a beast with little voltage loss out of the box.The siegelis are VERY mixed,,looks wise i think the # 20 is gorgeous, but has major flaws from reviews i read,i love the size of the # 20 copy of the dingo/roller
WHERE ARE YOU MECH PEOPLE

Sigelei #8; KTS-D/T; GP-PAPS; K-100 in that order

Not modded anything with either, straight out of the box all of them r performing perfectly/excellently. One hi-end, three low $, all giving out the same vape satisfaction to me.

k100 or k101 all day.

EDIT: btw fasttech has the k100 kits for around 35$

Excellent price!
Thank you for the recommendation.
I paid ~$70 for my gold k100...Blue is now on the way for ~$42 shipped per the site you recommended.

Gold K100 was and is my first and only mech mod thus far and love it!
I haven't experienced any issues with it thus far.
Blue will be a nice addition for almost half the price.

I also was looking for a cheap mechanical to use with my RBA. I finally decided on the Smoktech Telescope - was $38 from Vapow. My main concern with a cheap mech was the voltage drop - but pbusardo did a video a few days ago (the one where in introduces his new Mech test rig) and the Smoktech did quite well for voltage drop. I don't remember the details offhand, but it was the best of 4 mechs that he tested . .some were pretty expensive.

The only bummer was I ordered the kit from Vapow which included 2 18650's . .. nice except I didn't read closely enough. Got them today and they are unprotected ICR :(

I ordered some new IMR batteries - but I did want to give the Smoktech a try to at least see if it worked. It works quite nicely! It does feel cheaply made . .very light . .and the threading on the maintube is functional. .but not very nice. It has the heft and build quality of a $5 mini flashlight - but it's hard or impossible to find mechs for much cheaper.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the Smoktech. I haven't used it much at all but it seems like it will last quite a while. If you get one from Vapow, though, I suggest not getting the kit but get some IMR batteries seperately. $38 for the PV is not bad, though.

I have a Sigelei #8 and yes, out of the box it is a great MOD. The one in your photo looks like a smokey grey, is that the photo or did you make it that colour. I would love to darken it or paint it. I also see that you had it engraved, looks amazing

Hi Thanx.
Oh, it's just a photo trick. Clicked it without flash against a golden backdrop and without focus illuminating the main object. Yes, all my mods r engraved with my net ID.

My Segelei #8 owns my CCTS, and K100.

I HIGHLY recommend a Segelei #8 if you want a quality inexpensive mech. ( Built like a tank and nice looking, hits hard)

^^^This

Minor sanding and a small modification to get rid of the spring and it can hang with the best of them. Moderate modifications and it puts many of them to shame.
