OK - in researching mechanical mods, I've run across two different uses for magnets. The first seems to be universally considered a bad idea - that is, using a small magnet on a flat top batt to simulate a button top. OK - I can see why that could be a bad idea, causing potential for shorting and also adding an extra bit of potentially unknown, or even variable resistance to an unregulated circuit.
The second use, in buttons, like the magneto or the button "upgrade" for nemesis (and clones) doesn't directly contact the batter nor have current flow through it because of the closing of the circuit.
However, in another thread, when asked about "what to look for in a mechanical mod" someone specifically said NOT a magnetic button.
I am wondering if that is purely a personal preference thing, or if the magnetic button itself could cause potential problems.
