I went for a medical physical exam 2 weeks ago and the results are good. This is the first full physical I have had since giving up the analogs 1.5 years ago. The test included fasting for 12 hours prior to blood work & urine test, test for psa & the usual poking and prodding.

The results:
Lungs clear, blood pressure good (a bit high but I suspect that this was because I vaped before going in for the exam) and cholesterol levels normal. The blood work and urine tests checked out okay.

Vitamin D levels low, told by doc to take 2000 mg for 1 month and then reduce to 1000 mg per day.
First time in years that I haven't been asked by the doctor if I smoked and how many per day. I did not mention that I used an e-cig.

Good news indeed. A nice testament to the effects on quitting smoking and starting vaping! I have not been so lucky. I did quit smoking in January but have been super ill with pneumonia. I can't blame the pv though, I am not vaping all that much while ill, and I do have asthma. I am hoping in a year when I go in for my physical the docs will say the same. Keep up the good work larktdl. PS- I also have a vitamin D deficiency but I am guessing that is cuz I am in Saskatchewan where the sun don't shine.

You do know that nicotine will raise your blood pressure. The amount of nicotine injested daily is a function of the total liquid multiplied by the concentration of nicotine in your juice.

There have been studies that the nic from an e cig is not taken into the body as much as that from an analog, but .......

My blood pressure was always 120/80 but it went up to 138 after I started vaping. I was certainly vaping more than I was smoking; after cutting down on the concentration, my blood pressure went back to normal.

Great news Lark, but we knew that anyway. My Dr knows that I vape. She is working with me to compensate for the missing alkaloids in vaping. To date, the edge has been taken away more or less effectively with 10mg Cypralex daily which was upped to 15 yesterday. She is tickled pink that I have been smoke free for 13 months.

Thank You for sharing this personal news :)

Being someone who has Crohn's, I quit for many reasons, including my illness. My attacks averaged 1 per month while I smoked cigarettes, and they where violent. Since quitting, and turning to e-cigs, my attacks are now 3 times per year, and not as severe.

Not sure what the link is, but we know that cigarettes can cause many illnesses, and probably aggravated by Crohn's disease.

Best of Health to everyone out there....
