Hello @Alan.m, as long as it's Pharmaceutical (BP or equivalent) grade it's fine to use.

Match the CAS number (56-81-5) and look for purity of 99.5% or better.

Medical grade is probably about the same thing (if not identical) to USP grade, you can use it just fine if you want.

In the US it's called USP and yes, it's fine (I use it myself) It costs more for a small amount but is handy to be able to get it at local stores.

Yep, he could have purchased a bottle of VG at Walmart in the pharmacy/cosmetics area. At least that's where my first bottle came from many years ago.
