Yes it's an Imr 18650 but it's the 2000mah version. From what I have read is about 2mm larger then the 1600 older mah versions. Sometimes when I hit the button it doesn't fire at all. I have to wiggle the battery behind the door and it works fine. Any solution to this? I stinks taking a big vape just to realize nothing happened.

Slide the door down and watch it fire. Do you ever see a tiny spark? If you do, then you should add a dab of Noalox to the firing pin....and maybe a dot on the nipple of the battery. I don't think the 2000 mAh battery should be a problem. If the battery is moving on you, maybe stick a piece of cardboard or something between the battery and the divider to hold the battery in place. See if that helps. You're not a button masher, are you? You just barely have to push the button to activate it. Put it up to your ear and listen for the sizzle and you'll see how lightly you need to push it. Maybe you're pushing the battery out of place by mashing it too much. ???

Ok first things first is the battery an AW IMR. Not just imr but AW ? If it's not and it's randomly firing you likely have a protected battery that is cutting out on you especially if your using lr atties or Cartos.

If it is an aw imr and a battery wiggle is helping. Give your mod a bath. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/384228-reos-not-performing-well.html

Noalox alone won't help if you have a dirty mod.

I hope this gets you going post your results if not let's hear more :)

It's definitely an aw Imr 18650 2000mah.

I wouldn't think it would need a bath it's about a week old or so. I had the misfiring issue from day one and I just chalked it up to being a larger battery then normal. A proper bath would be dish soap and washing it off? I have added the noloax so I will see if I have anymore issues here over the next few days.

The thing is, he just got this from Rob about a week ago.....it was a blem. So.....I was thinking it couldn't be that dirty, but I wonder if they actually sit on a shelf at the Modmaster's Castle for some time.

A long time ago.....back in the beginning of my REO trek......I sent my Grand to Rob for the very same reason: it was misfiring every now and then. Rob gave it a good bath and sent it back to me. It's been fine ever since.....

Sorry for your troubles Shane, I'm guessing you have a REO Grand. With a good spring, there shouldn't be a problem with a loose batt. Mine is a tight fit, and is a tough getting out of there even with long fingernails. Remove your batt and measure the spring height or compare with another known good spring. BTW, AW IMR 2000mah should be about 65-66mm. Lemme know any differences :)

Every time I hear one of these stories, it bums me out for the person. I have bought 2 mini 2.0, 4 grands and 1 vv grand - all from Rob, all since October 2012. They have all fired every time I have pushed the button. I am very gentle with my button pushes.

Something else to consider, when unscrewing and screwing the bottle back on, I hold the cap against the side with my thumb so as not to let the tube / connector rotate. Is it possible that a bottle being removed / attached without doing that can loosen the connection?

I'm using the 2000 mah IMR AW in the Grand and when it fails to fire it's because the fire button isn't fully counterclockwise or in the unlocked position.
Shoving in and out of my back pocket I have to check it sometimes, seems with the large button cap its more prone to movement, not a big deal but it's happened a few times. A detent to help lock the fire button in the on or off position would be cool,, hey Rob? :)

Some of us "fix" that by pushing the pin (that locks the firing button) all the way into the button. That way it's permanently "on." From then on, you can't lock it, but with the button on the top instead of the side, it's more unlikely to accidentally fire, anyway. Might be something you'd want to do. I did it on one of my Minis and it's fine. Also, it SEEMS like after awhile of using the REO, the button becomes less likely to get turned accidentally. Not sure why that is.....maybe it gets "gunked" up just enough to make it stay where you put it. :)
