an Imr 18650 but it's the 2000mah version. From what I have read is about 2mm larger then the 1600 older mah versions.

Strange, I often hear this too but that's not the case with me. My 1600s & 2000s are pretty much the same. In fact my 1600 is ever so slightly longer. But it's from back when the 2000s didn't exist. I prefer the 1600s anyway & won't be buying anymore of the hybrid 2000s.

No, you are not mistaken as I have read that here a few times too. Maybe the newer 1600s are shoter, I don't know, I only have the original ones. I'm due for some new 1600s soon so I'll find out soon & will report back here if they are shorter.
