Fell asleep last night with my mech evidently. Woke up to my wife screaming and a burning hot mod. Quickly grabbed a towel and took everything apart and tossed it in the freezer for a bit to cool down (also to contain the result should the battery decide to vent on me). So checking out everything this morning, it seems that I've melted the plastic insulator in the magma rda... Looks like it should still work fine, but I'm leery about using it. So the question is, is it safe to use?

ok, cool beans. I'm gonna re-coil this bad boy and go for round 2... Lesson learned though; I can't fight my sleep meds. Gotta lock the vape and put it on the nightstand when I start gettin sleepy.
Well you have to at least check it for shorts; maybe the insulator is burnt out and the positive is touching the deck.
Maybe you check it for a short and it tests ok, but once you start using it and it gets hot, you get shorting out occurring.
with a multi meter, you would be able to see if there is any electrical flow between the two and would know for sure if its a problem.

Get a regulated mod that won't do anything if you attempt to hold the fire button down indefinitely.
that's pretty cool there... would have to build just a hair higher for my mutation, run it at a .2 right now, but would work for the magma issues. may have to get me one of these. Thanks!
