Have either of you tried the dart/straw method of filling a cart?

Someone posted it on here before. Basically you take a small straw used for mixing your coffee. Clip it in to a short section that is like half the depth of the cart in question. Put enough filler to loosely fill the rest of the cart inside of the cut straw section. Leaving you with what looks like a small blow dart. You can then fill your cart with e liquid to almost the very top. You insert the dart the liquid is then pulled directly into that small section of filler you have in the straw based on gravity. So in essence your filled cart becomes somewhat like a cart that acts as a direct drip.

Did that make sense? It took me a few times reading the other post that explained this before. I tried to word it in a fashion that was easier to read then what I had to work with. Great information once I understood what to do.

Subscribed to the thread - I'm interested in the answer too. I was thinking of just making the cart shorter (clipping the bottom end off).

Yeah, make it shorter.. it'll also be less likely to get liquid coming out the mouth piece. I am talking about the side that goes into the atty. You can clip it a little short of those tunnel holes.

If the center bridge is off center, it can cause some melting of the carts. The bridge hits against the cart if off, and can transfers heat.

I used the plastic point of a bic pen cap to GENTLY put the bridge back in center.

Might want to get one of the dripping mouth pieces and that'd end the problems. NHaler and Super-T Manufacturing have them!

Tried the straw mod and PTB. Problem was I never have it the time to wick back in the atty and then just ended up going with dripping.

If you are dripping you can really cut the cart so it does not melt. Also, not only the bridge melts the cart. If the atty stays to dry, the ceramic that surrounds the coil can really get hot to the point of melting the cart. This usually happens when the cart is not aligned with the ceramic. If you ook at the carts end you will notice that is is designed just as the shape of the ceramic base on the atty. Inserting the cart to match avoids possible burning.

As for the cart mods, the BFDM is great and wicks nice...so is the PTB and many other mods. The one that never fails once you get it (it takes me just a snip with a pair of scissors) and is really easy without any materials other than the original filler is the one my signature.

Dude, I had never checked to see if the bridge was to the side or not. I just put it flush up and down (my first non cart mod) and it makes the atomizer sizzle like the day I got it.

Thanks for the quick tip.

That is Dudette to you :D

Glad it worked.

The other thing to watch for is over heating the atty. Dry burns or over huffing and getting the atty too hot can melt the air portal that is located at the bottom of the atomizer (where air flows through the bottom of the atty) and it can melt shut and give a terrible tight draw that seems like it is clogged. No way to fix that if you melt it.

If you are using filler, don't shorten the cart. One thing some don't understand is you need to put a drop or two on the atty bridge every time you fill a cartridge/top off. You just need to put liquid in more often, or mod the filling. I use AquaClear foam in my 510 now. No more need for straws or other b.s. and it rinses out clean so one small piece lasts forever. You can find it at PetCo.

A little over a week now. No analogs and thrilled!

You have tried all of these mods in the first week?

Are you inhaling in the best manner for the model you're using? It took me a while to figure out my 510 doesn't smoke like an analog. Once I figured that out I quit messing with it and just vaped vaped vaped.
