The asterisk after the title means one of two things. Either the member (supporting members only) put it there as a decoration, or management has put it there in order to monitor the member's activity.

I know two people who have the management issued asterisk, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are in trouble.

That's all that I can say about it, it's classified information.

No, it's not Zoid or Lis, LOL, the reasons for the asterisks are classified. It makes sense too, there is no reason for management to explain to the forum why a member has an asterisk, that is between them and the member.

When the asterisks first appeared we had questions about them, like the questions being asked on this thread. Management was silent, but there have been a few leaks. It's inevitable, I guess.

I have some Mixed Emotions about these Posts.

If the Asterisks are "Classified" and "Need to Know", that's Fine with Me. But shouldn't a Mod or Admin of the ECF Staff be Making this Statement and not a Member? Members making Statements about How the ECF is run leads to Confusion and in some cases even False Statements.

It also feeds the Belief in Some People's minds that there are things going on that Only Selective Members Know About and that are Hidden from Others. Doesn't this just Feed the Tin Foil Hat Crowd?

The asterisk means that you have selected to be invisible - that is to say, that you don't want anyone to see if you are online or not.

You must have selected this option in your userCP: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/profile.php?do=editoptions

Also, if you see a + sign by anyone's name, this means that they are in your friends list....

That's a different asterisk that SJ is referring to, Zoid. The one in the Thread Information window at the bottom of the page. I have an asterisk next to my name, because I choose to be invisible.

I have not seen management comment on the asterisk that has been referred to in this thread. The one next to a member's title.

I am not privy to any classified information, I am only observant. Believe what I said or not, it doesn't matter to me either way.

Nothing wrong with Members making up there own Minds about things. It just Doesn't seem right to have Members Speak for the ECF on How the ECF is Run.
