Trying to make a Newport flavor, and cant get the menthol down exactly right...wondering if all menthol crystals are created equally? Or is it the tobacco blend that makes the Newport different than say..Salem or Kools?
If you haven't, search YouTube for TheGreen. He has a video on making menthol solution. Then just use 1 or 2 drops of the solution per mL of juice to mentholate.
At least for the solid. I'd think the base tobacco notes would be the key. The next thing to consider is if they put a mint along with the menthol. Mint and menthol play off each other in interesting ways. (Or at least they are fun to experiment with when I'm in the mood for something minty and different.)
I have been banned to the world of VG by my allergies, but I cannot seem to find a viciously strong menthol in 100% VG. Should I buy some menthol, make drops, and just go a little overboard? All of the VG menthols I have purchased from vendors have tasted weaker than the mints and the mints are not very "cold". I had one in PG called "KOOL" that was awesome, but I can't use it anymore.
Koolada would give that coolness, you may want to email Linda at PA and see if she can get you some in another base then PG as it normally is diluted in PG.
