I saw a youtube video so this was safe but I take menthol crystals and crush them up. Fill a 30ml plastic bottle half way up with them. Then I fill the rest of the bottle up with Everclear (PGA pure grain alcohol). This is a very strong menthol and I use it to make juices and add a drop to an atomizer to give a juice a kick. I love it and put it in most of the stuff I make. I also use Koolada. It will make the juice kool without adding a mint taste. Wonderful stuff.

Good luck to ya and I almost forgot....

to ecf. So glad you are here. ECF is potentially more addictive than nicotine.

Thanks Sgt. Rock, I think I can do that...I have been diy ing for a while, now it's time for some cool menthol.
Easy!

To make a 10% solution, mix 10 ml of PG with 1 gram of crystals (or 3 grams with 30 ml, etc.) ... and shake like heck until dissolved. (warming under running warm water will speed it up!)

I use this solution at 5% to 7.5% mixed with unflavored base to get me what I like...your mileage may vary!

Menthol is barely soluble in glycerin (VG). Straight PG is the way to go. I use 2 grams of menthol in 10 milliliters PG, but 1 gram is normal. Alcohol works, but adds an alcohol flavor.

Menthol itself is bitter in large concentrations, but otherwise has little flavor, so go easy with it. I like a lot, but use 2% vanillin and 4% sucralose in an otherwise straight menthol mixture. This helps overcome the bitterness.

Btw, if anyone cares about accurate percentages, you need to ADD PG to menthol to make 10 ml total quantity, NOT add 10 ml to the menthol. Even this will be slightly less than 10% as menthol is slightly lighter in weight than PG. This goes for all types of mixing. (This also means that 1 ml of finely crushed and compressed menthol powder will weigh about 1 gram. This should help those without a scale.)

Similar for me. Except I warm the base in the microwave for 10 seconds with the crystals in it (in a glass mason jar) and then place the jar in a warm bath for 20 minutes. This makes the crystals dissolve quickly so you can use it right away :). Be careful - it's going to be SUPER strong - you'll only need a few drops to flavor your base to make the actual juice.

Also I recommend adding a few drops of sweetener - I make mine with Stevia dissolved in the base (using the same method described above). Stevia doesn't have the "fake sugar" taste like sucralose does. Also probably better for you but who knows when it comes to inhalation.

My pleasure! Enjoy!

I've been making this menthol mix for several months now but I just started adding a few drops of sucralose per 30 ml to my menthol this week. The first batch was too sweet but I've got it about right now. It only takes a very small amount to knock the rough edge off of the menthol. Too much and it leaves an aftertaste that I don't care for--but in very small amounts it seems to do what I was looking for..allow me to add more menthol without biting my tongue every hit ;)

I've tried Sucralose in every concentration but it always tastes like sugar substitute to me. (I hate "diet" food and beverage products because of the faux sugar flavor.) Even though Stevia has an aftertaste in coffee and tea, it seems to perform perfectly in e-juice. I highly recommend it. You can make up a batch of plain sweetener and add it to taste in every DIY project.

I've go so little sucralose (made from pure powder dissolved in PG) in my menthol mix that it has zero sweet taste in it at all--just seems smoother. I will probably try stevia sometime soon as well..just because ;) TY for the input!

BTW..can't stand artificial sweetner flavor either...don't ever use it in or on anything!
