Hi RP,

Curious to know why you & Quovadis think it's good to blow out your atomizer 1-2 times a day. I personally never blow out my atomisers (except when new, which I think should be official advice).

People often ask me what is the best care for atomisers, and I don't really know what to advise.... (except to enjoy:))

Atomizers are really a strange thing, and they tend to be the biggest question or concern amongst vapers. I suppose if we really truely understood the best maintenance for them, they wouldn't seem so disposable.

I've found that liquid will get down into the portion of the atomizer which will not wick, and eventually work its way down towards the battery connector. The constant heating of the atomizer just makes the liquid less viscous and its only a matter of time before it starts leaking, and eventually pooling down there.

I think it may have something to do with dripping (or also poor cart design), some of the liquid will leak down the sides of the atomizer and not stay in the wick to be vaporized.

For me, it's just a way to keep the liquid from pooling down into the bottom of the atomizer shaft where it screws into the battery connector.

As far as not blowing out the atomizer, I can't imagine going 2 months without doing it. Last night after all day of vaping, I put a tissue down the atomizer shaft to clean it out, and probably extracted 4-5 drops worth of liquid that had pooled down in there from the days use. When I blew out the excess liquid from the atomizer, there was a good bit, I must have got a good 12 drops or so out of just the inside of the atty.

I should say 2 months, no dripping, no straw mods or anything like that. I fill carts up from the bottom with this -

I have a few of those bottles myself, though I haven't used them yet :) I have used some 20ga syringes to fill mine tho, which I suspect is close to the same.

Do you use standard stock carts with their filler, or do you fill your own? Curious how you make yours, and what your success has been in drying out the bottom half of the carts.

Also, what is your vaping habits like? Do you take 10-15 puffs, then sit it down for an hour, then vape more?

Seems so many different variables, but with so many folks having success with carts and the like, I wonder why some of us continue to struggle with them.

Stock carts, stock filler. I will change carts when they start looking bad enough. Maybe in 1 week, maybe 2 or 3. Probably moderate, continuous vaping if that makes any sense. I have one stick in my pocket, one on USB. Fill and switch them once a day. Really don't know what the bottom half of the carts look like. Still on the original batteries too.

I don't know, I can't really be bothered with dripping, pulling attomizers in and out, draining, etc., and both sticks still work like new.

There are 3 reasons for the janty stick to become less effective.

1. Lower batt charge or less power
2. low juice or lack of juice
3. buildup of excess juice inside the atty.

I blow mine once a day and get a dark brown residue on the paper.
Anytime the janty stick performs badly i will remove the atty and blow it clear.

Dunno about you guys.

Sorry QV - I didn't see your earlier post -

I have a few of these device. One is simply not enough.
Certainly true for e-cigs in general (and people who want to abstain from tobacco). It always surprises me how many people say the likes of "My atomizer has gone capput, and now I am am back on the analogs" or such.

I have a small pair of plyers to unscrew atty's.
The atomisers can be a little difficult to screw in or out, but I have never used pliers as yet. If it's difficult, use the white cover that comes with the cartridge to put over the atomiser. It fits very tight, and you can twist it in, or out, quite easily.

I do not suggest you use carts.
Drip 3~5 drops at a time.
That's my preference too, but many people prefer carts.

You also need a screwdriver with you for battery replacement.
I don't understand that. I just use my thumbnail. The battery cap does not need to be done up tight. And just now I loosened the battery cap using the only the friction of my thumb-tip (not nail).

Have plenty of charged batteries.
And well, why not?

I guess the main point I'm trying to make here is that you don't need a tool kit to carry around for using the Stick out and about.

But I like the sound of one USB male going to 4 USB females (USB or other) Sorry, couldn't resist ;-)

Well so far the battery seems to have just as much punch at the end of the day as it did just after a full charge. Perhaps its just that they are new? I do notice a little more punch when plugged into a USB wall adapter I have.

As for cleaning the atty I will definitely try to clean them once a day.

As for dripping I have done it with my 901 but for now I dont feel the need with the JS. Like I said in my OP, the JS seems so consistent :)

Also, I am also learning that the stock cart filler does seem to work much better. I did fill one with a PTB this morning but changed back to my menthol flavored cart so I have not run that PTB cartridge out yet so not so sure yet.

I found the same thing, you'll know when the battery is running low, the last 15 minutes or so before you get the blinking red LED (time to recharge indication), the vapor production will really taper off.

I vaped on mine all day on battery, I just decided not to plug it up while at work. I vaped on it during the drive in, while at work at my desk, on the way home I had to change batteries. That was over 9 hours of use off and on. I'm guessing 1ml of juice used. Not bad! :D

PTB's didn't do anything for me except provide a better flavor than the polyfill, but I found myself screwing around with the carts far more often with them. I don't recommend them on the 801, but if you can find a way to make them work well, do share!

I need tools. They make me feel better ! Lol!
Bite my nails, cant unscrew the battery cross.
My canine teeth won't fit in there either.
My cart tips are loose....no way i can screw and unscrew atty's.

There's a ton of different 801 atty's...some short some longer, some thinner and thicker.
Impossible to function normally without small pliers (medical pliers i use).

So Toby, congrats on your tool less operation you have going on there!!

This is what i use on a daily basis.
Kensington rechargeable power pack (lasts for weeks without a recharge)
Usb Squid.
3~4 janty's
One Prodigy passthrough
50 ml liquid.

I will show you the pliers next time.

And the beauty of all this is that it fits neatly into my shirt pocket:D

After almost 1 month of use (and after i figured out some initial quirks), i can safely say that the Janty stick is awesome!
Along with my Black Line (510) it's my main vaping device.

The only 2 problems:
A) It just kills atomizers: 1 Janty, 5 TW's, 2 Ryan and 2 Mini Pipe atty's were destroyed in less than a month of use!!
B) the button has become a touch problematic. It works 9 times out of 10, but sometimes i either have to "double-click" it or press really hard in order to work.

Other than that, everything is A-OK. Anxiously waiting for the 510 adaptor (which, hopefully, will spare me a couple of bucks in dead atty's)

I can confirm the white portion on the cart heating up and spreading out. I got the burnt taste today for the first time in 3 weeks of constant use. I had been using the same cart for 2 weeks, just topping off and dripping, ptb, not the polyfill. I had been noticing for the past week or so the cart seemed to give me some problems going back into the atomizer. Anyway I got a burnt taste and freaked out that my atty was going already. I yanked the cart and used a new one....sigh of relief...tasted great. Filled the old cart that had edges that were pointing outward, rinsed out the ptb and refilled. Now that one tasted great again and no burnt taste at all. I had a very stressfull day today at work and was vaping like crazy. Co-workers started calling my office the dragons den, partially because I was so grumpy, but mostly because everytime someone walked in, a cloud of smoke was coming out of my nose. Im sure the constant vaping today caused the atty to get hotter than normal and melt my cart a bit. I normally top-off maybe twice a day, with 3-5 drops per top off. Today I had to have topped off 5 times, some took almost 10 drops!

I wish i hadnt washed the ptb and put it back in after i filed the cart edges back down so Id have a controlled experiement, but oh well. It was either sucking the atty dry and the taste got stuck in the ptb, or the slight cart melt, pretty sure it was the cart melt.

Unrelated note, how are you guys going through so many atomizers?! Man, Id be ....... A little over 3 weeks of constant use, Im still using the TAWA I bought as a spare. Havent even whipped out the original janty atty that came with it yet. The stick barely leaves my hand, or hanging out of my mouth, so Im using it pretty heavy.

Not sure what PV you had before, but I came from a Mini Fogger (306 style) and was blown away with the JS. The Kissbox atomizers are massive and produce tons of vapor.

I did the same thing! My mini fogger has since been sitting in a box ever since I got my Janty Stick. I use it everyday. I'm considering buying another, but I want to wait and see if they release a Janty Stick v3. I'd love for them to make it with a metal casing or have it run off 5v.

I love mine too, but It seems the atty is a real tight fit and getting it out and in is a real pain. It seems that a standard 801 works better in it (not as tight) any tips?

I use the stainless steel atomizers and I find they fit the best. The atomizers that are colored or have that black painted coating make it a tight fit.
