I haven't found an 801 that wouldn't work in a stick yet. I've used Janty, TW, Best ecig, Lightcig 201s and at least one other brand I can't remember. The only one I couldn't stand was the high bridge I tried (it compressed the cart material too much and I think dripping is too much of a pain). Parked over at Dietsmokes put up a list one time of all the ones that work in the stick and it was extensive. Getting a good one, no matter where you buy it, is the trick. Even if they work, working the way you want them is sometimes just a matter of luck. Out of a batch of 5 TWs I bought recently, 2 out of 3 work well. One has a wicking problem, but still works.

I just want to GET my stick. Janty USA accepted my money on 10/10, and my order has been sitting at "shipping 10/13" since then. I opened a ticket and was told by Ethan that they would have it by Monday at the latest. Well, Monday's here, and the status hasn't changed. I've heard a lot of good things about the stick, I like 801's, and I think I would like combination. Since the only way to contact them is by ticket, I guess I wait for them to answer. I would hate to have to retract my payment. I have already been through months of waiting with the "company that shall not be named". At least they didn't take my money before they shipped the order. I don't think I want to do that again.

Thanks for the hopefulness. There are starting to be some rumbles from other customers on other forums about not getting replies, or product. At least I have new batteries for my Nicostick that shipped today (on the slow boat from China). I've killed 3 of my 801 auto batts in 4 weeks, and I only have 2 manuals and the little unmentionable PCC kit left. I'm gettin' concerned.

I also disliked the high-bridged 801 I had. The ones from TW work great, and don't squish the filler.

Add a switch to the Janty stick that bypasses the battery and sends the 5 volts from the Stick's passthrough to the atomizer. It would be a trivial matter to put a two position switch on the side of the stick that position 1, vapes normally and charges the battery, and in position 2, just sends the +5 through to the atomizer.

You'd have something close to equivalency in function to the puresmoker passthrough (god knows all the 510 passthroughs from china suck canal water), a multi-voltage vaping option, and a usb rechargeable sweet 3.7 volt carry around vaping device all in one.

Heck, I think I could even pull this off in my own garage with a cheap Rat Shack slide switch and a bit of wire. With Janty and the manufacturers doing the stick, I can't imagine it would cost more than a few cents a unit, and would nearly add 50% of the current cost of the stick V2 in perceived value, as far as I'm concerned.

3.7 volt JStick performance.... 5 volt option... cheap... existing technology already there... this one would be a winner, hands down. I'd drag a Kensington or other power pack around in the car for those long trips and 5 volt vaping, and vape at 3.7 at other times. Personally, I would vape an 801 style atomizer at 5v and a 510 at 3.7.

I was only kidding about the freebie part. If you like the idea, Mik, you gotta send me and my wife a couple of re-tooled sticks (with dura adaptors, please) gratis as a thank u.

What do the rest of you think?

Months with no stock,
Promises for new hardware,
Can't keep up with the old stuff,
Natural disasters we accept,
Holiday and vacations too,
Retro-fitted adapters we await,
Now no communication too?

Hurting in Ohio-Ruth Ann

Hi Ruth Ann,

Another Ohio vaper here. It is odd that this forum seems so quiet- it used to be a hotbed of activity and information.

I was looking at the Janty USA site today and see that they're selling DURA adapters for the Janty Stick to ship out on the 23rd and am sitting here still staring at the original one I bought that is pretty much useful as a paperweight waiting for the promised replacement for I forget how long now, and it was kind of stinging to see them for sale on the site before I even have any word on a working one.

Their website makes me kind of nuts, every time I go there it tells me to upgrade to at least internet exporer 6 and I'm using Vista 64 bit with Internet Explorer 8 installed.

My guess is that this company is undergoing growing pains that are pulling folks in several different directions with different itineraries for how to grow the place. At the same time, they are just people who might be new to corporate growth and as I look at all the pictures of parties in manilla, it makes me wonder if they are just slightly overindulging in their new found fame a bit and losing the stay-hungry-eye-of-the-tiger part that got 'em growing in the first place.

They have some top notch folks working for them- particularly Ethan, who must be tearing his hair out every day in customer service. I hope he gets supported and doesn't give up.

Otherwise, at some point down the road, we'd be discussing this stuff in someone else's forum.

My original plan was to get multiple J-sticks even though I wasn't all that sold on an 801 penstyle atty because I was waiting for that adaptor for the 510- then my wife and I could be using the same device and hardware and still have 510 atty's and at least the battery life of the 10440 with a USB passthrough. Made great sense to me. 510 J-sticks, three members of my household all happy (23 year old in the basement now off analog's too) and on the same hardware. Well, I got all three j-sticks two of which are now collecting dust because the other 2 members will let go of their 510 atty's when pried from their cold, dead fingers and they are making me buy those batteries I never wanted to buy again that the stick was going to save me from spending on. I'm still vaping on an 801 because even though I want to use a 510 too I'm stubbornly trying to see my plan through.

In the meantime, the wife got tired of battery issues yesterday and told me to order 2 chucks and 18650's from china. They're on the way, but I would have been happy to throw that 210 bucks to Janty if they had things together by now. The house has now gone multiple hardware instead of being able to have one source. That's ok I suppose, but poop... things could have been a lot easier. We'll have to see how this all rolls out in the next couple of months. I don't forsee things getting more stable at Janty 'til next spring when they iron out their product issues and negotiate the coming holiday sales season. I hope they at least have product before the christmas sales are too late to catch up to.

Ciao!

Steve

I think they stripped a few gears on the Cameo 'flop' and are now trying to get some of the other items they have lined up into the pipe line. Cameo would have flowed nicely from the JStick as it was very similar in shape, atty, batt, etc.. but lots of people wanted more volt and longer batt life.

So, the twinbox, Ego, Baby-J are quickly being brought to market. Meantime, other stock items are slipping a bit.
