Dear Ludo,
you've gave us a bit of a scare saying that only using accessories provided by Janty won't void Stick's warranty. At least that's how I understood it, and from what I've read on this forum, I'm not the only one.

Here's the quote:
Do not use other types USB cables, it will fry the mini USB port, do not use other types batteries. Just stick to the Stick and what comes with it. Our batteries are dirt cheap, use them. If you need a USB cable ask us.

I'd like to ask you to clear this up, since I've either ordered or was going to order some accessories for the Stick.

1.a. USB cable
- Did you mean for us not use "any other then provided by Janty" or "a different type"?
- If a different type, what usb cable do I have to get not to damage the Stick?
- If any other, what is so special about the usb cable you are providing?
- Does this matter concern the cable itself or the mini-usb plug?

I've been looking foreward to not carrying any cables with me, just having one at home and one at my car (or using any mini-usb at my friend's).

Additionally, I've found some alternatives to have the mini-usb angled and/or have a more flexible and lighter cable itself. This would be much more comfortable, but I wouldn't like to void my warranty.

1.b. USB source
- Is there any limitation as to the usb power source?
- Standard usb port is 5V 500mA, but there are wall/car adaptors that give out up to 1000mA (possibly even more). Could they damage the Stick and/or void the warranty?

2. Batteries
- Again, did you mean we can use "only batteries provided by Janty" or "only the same type"?
- If you meant the type, are there any Li-Ion 3.6V batteries that could damage the Stick and/or void the warranty?
- If you meant only Janty's, how are they different than any other batteries available out there?

I'm awaiting a delivery of UltraFire batteries (3,6V 500mAh, tests showed they're actually 305mAh) - I ordered them before ordering the Stick, as I killed the one in my Kissbox passthrough.

3. Charger
- Are there any peticular specs for charging the batteries that come with the Stick?
- Is there some kind of a Li-Ion 10440 charger that we should or shouldn't use?

Since there's still no charger on jantyshop.com, I've ordered one elsewhere (intended for 10440 Li-Ion batteries). Just want to be sure it won't ruin my batteries.

I'll be grateful for as much information as you can give me. Maybe I'm being too precise about it, but I don't want to have any problems because of misunderstanding you.

Thank in advance!

I would still use the 801 kbc atty due to it’s capacity it will drain a 801 and if you use a 901 or 510 you would be changing them and topping all the time

thanks for the update on the adaptors:rolleyes:
Some people prefer other atomizers, but what's more important, a lot of us have some other atomizers around (and plenty of them, from what I've read).

So all in all, that's an amazing idea! :thumb:

As far as the cable is concerned, can you address if we can safelt use a USB "extension: for the provided cable and still be under warranty?
An extension of a reasonable length (let's say under 2metres) has no effect on the current passed to the receiver. Any longer (or usb hubs) may only give a lower current, which might cause worse performance (slower charging), but I can think of no way that could damage anything.

There might rather be a limitation to the current provided by a wall-to-usb adapter, as a standard usb port has 500mA and some wall/car adapters I've seen are up to 1000mA.
I've added that to the list.

I just want to hear Ludo or Jeff tell me it's OK.............

'd like larger bottles, more selection, and cheaper prices, too, please.

Larger bottles: cannot... do you really want FDA to kill us?
more selection: can... is being taken care off these weeks
cheaper prices: cannot... in fact shipping prices of batches liquid have gone up a lot so we should be asking more, but we don't.

Hmm I have a keyboard with usb on it and the beta stick I had seem to work just fine with the USB cable that came with it and I use a laptop at work so it’s no problem but in the car I can use it to charge it and disconnect it when I need it. The batteries last a long time and if you have two charged up you can get through the work day without a charge up to 10h or more

I'm often at the office for 12-14 hours and I have a desktop sitting under my desk, so I need a longer cable, that is why I was asking about the extension.......

not so much a rant as question... what is this funky burnt taste I get sometimes from my kissbox? it's not an empty cart cuz a couple of painful drags later and I get a normal drag again. It's REALLY unpleasant.

yes I get that too from my dura c. Its not the cart being dry either. sometimes if it gets a little dry it will do it worse, but it tastes like the fluval is burning or something like that.
It makes me cough my head off cuz it burns my throat so bad.

Ludo has advised that using anything other than the supplied cable will invalidate the warranty on your stick

Then that would indicate the cable supplied is not a standard USB cable. This is actually very bad news as it would limit people's ability to use their home PC's. I can imagine a laptop would be no problem....but many of us still have towers and desktops.

So, in other words, it's going to be good that I ordered the regular chargers for these batteries, And a few extra batteries. ...no mention of the length of the usb cable supplied. And the car charger may not be the right connection. ?? Seems like this is turning out to be a freaking nightmare, and I'm a patient person by nature..

How old is your atty? I had a Janty KB atty doing that as well. But for me the taste did not go away ever. I tried to keep using it to see if the taste went away but it didn't. I would suggest sending the atty back for a new one. If your atty is new, then it might be the factory primer burning off. My replacement from Janty and the spare have never given me that problem. Maybe some attys are just faulty like this.
