Every now and again I run across a nice little MTL set up and like to pass it along. In my never ending quest for the perfect MTL rig, sometimes I do a bit of experimenting. Usually its yet another dismal failure; however, on the rare occasion I find a gem. I'm just going to give the basic recipe here...

1 part Athena Envy 22 Plus 75w single 18650 device
1 part Merlin RTA
Mix with 1.8 ohm kanthal coil
Add a dash of 1.4mm kayfun MTL kit plug
And mix vigorously with the wicking of yer picking..Rayon in my case.

The sum of these parts? A very smooth and extra flavorful vape IMHO. There are a few things one should know about the Envy Plus before giving this a whirl. It has a very odd chip set that had me scratching my head until I did a bit of research on it. And there is VERY little info out there on this device to research, trust me. I'm told the TC on this device is garbage, I'll take several reviewers at their word since I don't do TC. That said, this chip has been designed to select a comfortable vape for you using kanthal coils and will auto-lock the resistance once it finds "it". To my surprise, it did just that. It restricted the above noted 1.8 ohm coil to a resistance value of 1.55. That works out roughly to 3.5 volts and change. It will up the resistance if you add additional watts, but not a whole heck of a lot. It will slap the brakes on you at 29 watts on the 1.8 coil and you will go no further in power mode. The long and short of this little experiment is this set provided one of the best MTL experiences I have had in quite a while. The air flow adjust can be used to fine tune the draw to your tastes. If you find it still to airy with the air flow shut down all they way, you can take drastic measures and place a gasket of scotch tape or similar material and place it over the bottom of the base and cut a circle around the tank's diameter so it's flush. The air flow is pulled in from the bottom seam between the 510 base and air flow ring in addition to the ring ports and the tape will seal it off giving you a crazy tight draw. Umm, yea, I use the tape. I've included some pics below just to give a visual. The Merlin is in all black, and a Kayfun 5 is in silver/black just to show how far up it sits. Doubt many will go to the trouble, but there is a nice reward if you decide to invest the time...

Oh yea, I LOVE my side by sides and will snap them up immediately if they peak my interest. Which is exactly how I ended up here. :D

Tape goes here...

By kayfun mtl plug do you mean the addon kayfun 5 kit is that small? I thought it was 2.0. 1.4 is very tight even for mtl. It fits he Merlin? Can you just use a ptfe reducer like Taifun gt2? 699f + melting point in numerous I'd/of but the of has to be a whole number. Like 2/3/4

This is a very interesting post. I'm on the perpetual hunt for best mtl.

The 1:8 coil jd what you wrap ?

Sorry I'm just s little lost with the recipe.

What the total cost. Merlin rta - I don't know this tank.

Also why the garbage reminding irk not a phantus side by side mech or clone ? The clones are very inexpensive.
