I think I'm going to use the RBA section, I was trying to wait until this coil is done. I think mine is still good it only tastes less when the battery is almost done. It just annoys me that I can't clear a tank because the juice channels are so damn high. How long would the stock rba coils and cotton last me? How many watts can you use on that? Anyone got a video of how to set it up?

How the heck do you unscrew it?! The chimney screw is like superglued in there I can't even get it to budge!! :-x

Also can you tell me if my battery is good, and are you for some reason not supposed to charge through the cord?
i tend to use and recommend external charger - safer alternative... what kind of battery are you using?

They sold me an aspire brand one with it. Why is an external safer/why would they put in a cord if it was unsafe?

1800mah 40 a aspire sorry just checked.
from the research/ reading I have done, the internal usb chargers are not as safe or reliable as an external charger - some mods have even had issues with the charging port requiring users to take them out - there is a good bit of info on it here (try using search box and looking for 'usb charge' - should get you some info)... they would include a cord with it because it is a 'feature' - personally, i ONLY use the usb charger in a pinch (which is to say pretty much never - easy enough to keep a spare battery - in a case, not my pocket (that's a whole 'nother issue...) - but ultimately, the choice is yours - external chargers are designed specifically for charging, the charging port in your mod is an 'add-on'

i *believe* the aspire batteries are okay (though it is not, in fact, a 40 A cdr rating battery, regardless of what the label says... check out @Mooch 's blog on battery bench tests)... I tend to prefer the samsung 25r in my subox - 2500mah 20amp cdr (you don't really need anything over a 20A in the subox as you won't be firing anything over about 13 amps given the limits of the mod - .3 ohm min/ 50 watt max power)

My friend wicked my RBA for me and 'make the coil better' and pushed it so all the loops were touching and heated the wire with a lighter or something. I told him not to screw around with it but he didn't listen because he thinks he knows everything about vapes. Is this really better?
Also I think he put too much cotton in how can I tell? Aren't you supposed to keep the cotton away from the juice channels?
That little bottom plug which holds it all together doesn't seem very stable and firmly in there...

Hi, I'm new here. Not totally new to vaping but I got a subox mini kit three days ago. My friend primed and filled it up and it was fantastic. I got near the end of the tank and put some more in and it's been nothing but problems and I'm upset as I'm on a very limited income and just spent over a hundred dollars. I put more juice in and it tasted different and was harsh throat hits when it was smooth as could be the first tank. I put some juice in the coil thinking it was dry or something and it poured out the mouthpiece. I then took the bottom off and dried it off a bit and tried again but it was spitting and tasted wrong still and if you blew in one side of the air flow juice came out the other. We changed coils and it still isn't good and now it's leaking from somewhere and I don't understand what's wrong. I'm pretty bummed because I have a full tank of juice in there and don't know how to fix it. It was so great day one and it's just been downhill. :(

Hoping someone can help me out here as I'm not a big fan of dripping and just want to use my new vape again.
Thanks

I'm 100% new to all of this too having spent less than a week involved in vaping. What I would do would be to go to a vape shop, and allow the pros to handle the device you bought and work the bugs out. If they've been doing it for six months to a year they will be able to fix any issues you have.

Note, I read all the posts and see the loc where you purchased is pretty far away. I would do a road trip and visit a few vape shops on the same trip. Try to get good answers abt what to do and how to do it from a few different pros all in one day.

Unless you are rebuilding, this is a very simple activity. Rebuilding....hhhhmmm, check with the shops so it doesn't detonate the battery.

Pushing the coils together can be a preference thing. Some like spaced coils, some like them touching. I have mine touching because I do 14 wraps of ni200, so if it was spaced, it wouldn't fit the subtank mini RBA. I also use a lighter to burn off any oils left from manufacturing the wire.

Contact coils in will heat up the vape and may lead to more spitting, whereas spaced gives a cooler vape and typically no spitting, unless you are vaping outside in the heat (100F+).

The wicking looks pretty good, you definitely want the cotton up against the holes, any gaps and it will likely leak. Keeping the cotton out of the juice channels was true for the old style RBA section, but not the new one.
