There's a ton of posts around the ECF related, and a couple old threads here. And I have a good friend that travels ~300 days a year that I converted to vaping. I've had a couple long flights since then too.

My friend just puts them in his laptop bag. Takes his laptop out as required, but leaves the other (non juice) items in there to be counted among all the other electronics and batteries.

I toss the juice in a plastic bag in my checked baggage and bring a pack of prefilled cartomizers and a few batteries with me. I just leave them in my purse and toss my purse in the tray as usual. They've only had interest in them once, and as soon as I told them what they were, we were good to go. Most posts I read dovetail this experience.

Liquid is a pretty touchy subject. Many people have put it in the obligatory baggie, carried it on, and gone through fine from my readings - not something I want to play with personally, so I check it.

UPDATE.....

The E-cigs passed metal/x-ray detection with flying colors...

On the otherhand...I personally did not pass. It went like this:

"Sir, please remove your jacket and place it on the x-ray conveyer." I left the e-cigs in the jacket pocket. The jacket goes through...no questions at all. Then...

"Sir, please step through the detector..."

BZZZZZZZZZZ

"Sir, step back and remove your wristwatch and place it in the basket. Go through again..."

BZZZZZZZZZZZ

"Sir, please step back and remove your belt and place it on the conveyer, then step through again."

BZZZZZZZZZZ

"Sir, please step back and remove your shoes and place them on the conveyer. Step through again."

Finally....blessed silence from the infernal machine, but I am standing in a cold lobby in my socks holding my pants up. Folks...I have to ask....just how much security do you want in your life? Think about it.... ;)

Anyway....the e-cigs were not a problem at all.

. Folks...I have to ask....just how much security do you want in your life?

It is an unfortunate reality that it is needed in a lot of cases though. It may be an inconvenience, but it's ultimately there for general safety. I don't agree with some of the harassment people go through with airport security when they have medical implants or anything of that sort though. My boss is a vietnam vet with metal in 2 places in his body and they practically made him strip last time he had to go on a plane. Pretty humiliating and un-necessary in my opinion. He has medical cards for everything. For the record i work in industrial security so i'm probably a little partial to the topic, but i do agree it is a large inconvenience that sometimes isn't worth it and sometimes prevents major problems. kind of double-edged so to speak.

I passed through and "BZZZ" so she opened up my back pack and came across my PCC, then I explained what it was....BZZZ, she then came across my DSE 601, lol.....BZZZZZ oh, theres my spare 510 batteries ! She asked what they were and had never heard of them before but let me through all the same.

I didn't want any problems with security. But the more I think about it....there should have been a major stink. These are blasting detonators. People with chromes or coppers will recognize them....LOL

And if you plan to take that passthru anywhere secure? Tell me this electric detonator doesn't also look very familiar.
