Anyone else noticed this? Lulled into a false sense of security with the plastic caps, I'd gotten into the habit of resting the tank against me when not puffing. The metal caps actually get hot enough to burn my neck or lip!!!
I thought I'd left behind worries over burning holes in things. Haven't burned holes in clothing or anything yet, and I always rest my tank end on a chopstick rest when not in use, so haven't burned any table tops.
Just something to think about though.

Or, is it just me  ?

Yep, I am generally alternating between 2 or 3 of them now, as they get pretty hot the way I vape. I haven't yet burned myself, nor any inanimate objects though. While a blister might result, I'm not sure there's any risk of fire, or risk of burning holes in things!!

Not just with the 1.5s either; pretty much any ohm and single or dual configuration for me, i've tried them all (that V4L offers)! :)

I've noticed that too, Katz. Had a 2.5 dual-coil get quite hot, and transmit its heat to the metal. But that particular carto had issues: it ohmed out initially at 1.5, had some nicks on the threads, and after about an hour it would fire intermittently with a manual batt, until it would not fire at all. I like my delrin 3.5ml tank better: less heat transmission, clear resevoir, plus it has a recess with flats that match the carto flanges.

If it has happened I have never noticed it and the bulk of my tanks have metal caps. Is it just the Top Cap because I have noticed after a day or so the top of the polyfill material is pretty dry. Given the architecture of a Dual Coil set-up I generally top-off with 2-4 drops just to keep the polyfill (top coil portion) evenly saturated.

Hmm, I put a new carto in the tank I'm talking about just yesterday. It consistently gets hot, even the plastic part. Yes, I'm using 1.5ohm DCs, and yes, I'm talking about chain vaping here.

A warning for the ladies, if your metal tanks get hot, DO NOT use cleavage as a temporary holder to free up your hands. 8-o

I'm with you on this! Plus, batteries are easier to screw in the delrin tanks. I have to hold the drip tip, when screwing a batt onto a metal tank or it'll just spin.
