Hi, I recently got a metallic taste from my ego T and did a bit of research which led me to this article:
http://www.googlenewsonline.com/damaging-effects-of-ions-from-electronic-cigarettes.html

It says the heating element in the attys release metal ions in the vapor that could lead to memory loss and cancer. Now without jumping to conclusions about the magnitude of the health risk, I want to know if there any ecigs and/or attys options that do not use heating elements? Any "non-heating-element" atty options for/like the egoT that I really like?

Thanks,
GGG

I dont know about this new finding :( nicotine is so ....... addicting and maybe that is what is causing me to want to buy more and more mods and e-liquid.
I've spent up to $200 in three months on e-cigs and e-liquid. Is this a bad thing?

Startup/upgrading and finding favorite flavors is the most expensive part of the process, so it's not necessarily bad. I also think many new vapers keep their hands and minds busy with ecig "nesting" behavior early on while making habit changes.

Metal excitation was one of the first things I thought about when I saw how cartos are constructed because I once read something about the dangers of using plated screens in glass pipes: intense heat from the smoldering whatever-the-person-was-smoking deplated the screen and caused health problems.

As far as I know, the actual heating elements in most PVs/cartos are not plated (significant because the bond between a metal and a layer of plate is not as strong as the bonds between the metals in an alloy like steel) and are not reaching temperatures comparable to combustible products. A certain amount of energy is needed for a metal ion to escape, and I basically decided to not worry too much about this issue because it seemed unlikely that a PV was providing enough power for this to be occurring so frequently that vaping became worse than smoking.

I believe that future PV designs will benefit from research data about what actually makes it into the vapor and I strongly suspect that some colors, flavors and materials we routinely see now will not be used in the future. I'd still be smoking if I wasn't vaping, so I continue to vape because I feel better and I believe the practice to be safer than cigarettes.

Thanks for the posts. Ha ha about the BT and BP comments. Ofcourse I believe ecigs are much safer than tobacco. I've spent around $500 over 2 years that I've been vaping. Started with Blu then moved to the egoT that I'm "nesting" currently. JC is my favorite juice. The thing is I quit smoking for over year, and numerous times before that over 10 yrs :) before I began vaping. So the health risks I'm benchmarking against are being totally smoke free, or being on BP products for that matter.

Anyone heard of ultrasonic atomizers for the egoT and where to source them from? Or any other popular brands of ecigs with ultrasonic atomizers? Thanks.
