It is from the Spike Lee movie Do the Right Thing. I kept hearing Samuel L. Jackson saying in my head, "That's the truth Ruth!" when I read your post. So I remixed it in a program called Transcribe and posted in youtbe, since those are the only supported videos here. Yep, I did all that because of your post, and it was my first youtube video!

I've seen that film, but had totally forgotten about it, especially Samuel L. Jackson's part as the radio DJ. Does he ever actually interact with the other characters? From what I remember his character was sort of a narrator - it was a clever device to set the scene. Maybe I'll have to check it out again. I seem to recall it being thick with political/social messages, almost to the point of ridiculousness, but that was why I enjoyed it.
