I really hate it when you take a draw and there is no vapor or it tastes burnt due to a failed or failing atomizer. This is even more upsetting when you are away from a replacement atomizer or in an inconvenient place. Like many of us here, I clean my tank every few fills, but I have no idea how many fills my atomizer has gone through. Therefore, I came up with a cheap idea on when to replace the atomizer. I went to an office supply store and purchased a box of small round stickers in different colors (blue, green, yellow and red). When I start out with a new atomizer I place a blue sticker on the base and once it is screwed onto the mod you can't see it. Every time I clean my tank I place on a different color sticker. Once I go to clean a tank with a red sticker I replace my atomizer. Simple!

Good idea, but it's not a science. I have some juices that don't need cleaning for twice as many fills and I assume the head will last longer with them as well. Actually, I haven't had a head fail yet. Just keep cleaning them with dry burns and when they get really gunky soaking in Vodka. I do have 6 devices filled and in rotation though. If I only had 1 I might feel differently.
