Browsing the forums the other night and seen a pic or 2 of a RBA that had a cool looking coil.. looked so perfect and so packed together i had no clue what it was.. Found out you guys call them Micro Coils?

Well without really digging into what they are, I grabbed my AGA and made a 10 wrap of 30g wire which i believe is a Micro Coil? Almost perfect, took me about 30 mins and its reading 3.0 ohms.. Coils are right up against each other, perfectly ( well almost ) and before i filled it w juice and gave it a few dry burns, the coils lit up like 1 big even coil! ( not separate coils like usual )

Took 2 drags off my provari at 5v and WOW!!! Lets just say i couldnt even get out of my chair to walk.. I had to sit and wait a few minutes for the room to stop spinning..

I use anywhere between 12-16mg juice and the 2 drags alone felt like i just inhaled a 50.00 cigar at the age of 13! Talk about a nicotine head rush!!

Is there any info on Micro Coils around? preferably used on RBA Genesis style tanks/SS Mesh wicks?

I think i found a new love and would like some more info or maybe some advice or tips from others out there who do this.

The main threads on micro coils are in the Reo forum, I'm too lazy to look up the links right now :p

A true micro coil will have a small internal diameter where 10-12 wraps would get you around 1.8-2ohms, and usually do best when dripping or "squonking" a bottom fed atty(like on a Reo). I tried doing one in my aga and it hit really hard but the wick just couldn't keep up. Good luck though and if yours works well over time post some pics and share :)

come on over to the RBA sub-forum maf2k8! theres a couple of good micro coil threads. i just made my first micro. it wasnt perfect but im impressed with it already. its a great vape and its really nice to be able to use 28g kanthal on a protected mod. my next micro will be outstanding, judging by how good my "lousy" first attempt was. :vapor:

I always wondered why all the advise for building rba coils was to spread out the coils. Almost all of the clearos I used before I moved to rbas had the tightly packed coils and worked a treat.

When I first checked out the rebuildable section here at ecf I saw a bunch of warnings saying to make sure none of the wraps touch when making a coil. I thought that was odd because coming from disposable atomizers, I knew Cisco spec and other premium atties made a tigh coil of about a dozen touching wraps, pretty much a "micro coil", and they worked amazing.

Glad that myth isn't being spread as much and more are seeing the benefit of tightly packed coils. My biggest benefit is being able to use thicker wire and not having to crank the watts up to get a good vape, the reaction time is so much quicker at lower watts. The quality of vape is better to me too, plus they stay clean longer without the spaces in between the coils to collect gunk.
