I am running a vertical micro coil with 28g kanthal in my PT 2 at the moment. Wick is organic cotton stuffed in around the centered coil. Its like a mini carto at the bottom of the tank.

I can run it up to 15 watts @ 2 ohms with zero issues. No dry hits. Even crackles like a carto.

I made one of these yesterday but the draw was too tight. What diameter did you wrap around and how many wraps? I'd like to try it again with 28g.

thats AWESOME. I'm gonna try my had at a double for now. Thanks for the idea. this should be interesting as I only have 32g. Whats your suggestion for number of wraps around 2mm wick?
I doubt you will be able to fit 2 coils in there wrapping 2 mm. Maybe, I have not tried. In my build, I've made micro coils around 18g needle. Try that with your 32g and wrap 10-12 each. You will need to wick with cotton to get a good vape. I dont think fiber will wick well enough and when I tried butchers cotton twine it also failed to wick fast enough. Cotton balls or Q-tip ends work well.

You rock dude, this is exactly what I was looking for, I got the aspire BDC and it rocked at first, and then failed due to my 100% vg, so I'm going back to my protanks and figured I would go BDC on a build, I knew I would have to go nano to get it to fit, was just worried about melting gaskets... this is perfect, saved me a ton of trouble shooting,

Thanks Man!!! and great tip on why not to twist the leads... Just one last question... Have you tried ss mesh?

Sorry, never tried mesh on the protank. I think the coils would be too small to fit it though.
The kanger heads are quite finicky and they need an exact feed of juice and air to get optimal performance from that small space.
Just another note. If you dont hear a very even and strong crispy sizzle on this build, It means you probably have too much flavor wick. Take a bit out and it should perform amazing!
Now I'm inspired to rewick the triple coils with fluffy cotton and see what I can get from it.
Glad I could help you today after your enlightening observation and help with the draw issues on the other post!
Let us know what you think.

Oh hey there... lol, sorry I got lost making coils, So yeah anyway, kinda gave up on Kanger heads, they are just to small... So I put dual nano coils in some Aspire BDC heads, A lot more room and I like the flavor and heat more in them, plus there is no need for messing with flavor wicks to stop flooding, so I used 32g kanthal, 13 wraps on a 20g needle, but there is enough room in there to do more wraps because there is no metal insert and the inside is insulated.

Anyway came out to a perfect 1.5,ohm using cotton and it hits like a truck!!!

Side note: I used ceramic insulators on the leads, keeps that burnt rubber flavor away. also looking into some solid and hollow porous ceramic wicks.

I'll keep ya posted, Vape On!!!
