For those who create small micro coils/nano coils, what do you use to pull your wool through? I tired creating a few, due to not having the correct kanthal size, and couldn't pull the cotton through without screwing up the coil. Had to go back to a larger diameter micro coil to be able to pull the cotton through. If i rolled up the cotton very tightly, i could get some in, but the fluffy part always got stuck, and couldn't be pulled through.

If you have any pictures of tools, methods, that would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks.

If you're using cotton yarn you can take a piece of kanthal wire and do "fishhook". Hook the cotton yarn with one end of the wire then feed the wire with the cotton yarn attached through the coil. Then grab the clean end of the kanthal wire you just slipped through the coil and reel/fish in the cotton yarn. Make sure the strand isnt too thick, that can choke the wick at the coil and produce harsh vapor. If you see that happens, remove a strand from the yarn and re fish hook it.

IMHO, you're going to have better results with cotton balls. You can roll them as thin or thick as you want and as dense as you want. They work extremely well for micro coils, especially small bore coils like the nanos. Just roll a wik and roll the tip extra thin to slip through.
