Good Morning Folks... 
Had quite the day yesterday... My Gr. Nephew celebrated his 1st birthday.... So the day started with a Wild One party... Little was I aware of how wild it was going to get later.
Had quite the day yesterday... My Gr. Nephew celebrated his 1st birthday.... So the day started with a Wild One party... Little was I aware of how wild it was going to get later.
Came back home late in the afternoon and turned the AC back on since it'd reached the century mark here ( about 115° heat index ).. took care of a few errands, had supper and since I'd seen a chance of storms later, took a long nap since the storms were due around midnight or so. Got back up around 8:30pm to find a line of storms on the radar that stretched from the west side to the east of northern Oklahoma... heading SE. So called everyone that needed to know since there was a low chance of tornadoes as well.
When they made it, they came in roaring... about 5m til midnight, the power went out and I quickly reported it to the electric company since I knew they were going to be busy. Apparently, I'd upset the power gods at some point... lol. It wouldn't have been so bad but since I'd left the AC off most of the afternoon, it hadn't had time to catch up... so it was still a bit warm to be comfortable. So I got dressed again after the torrential rain let up , jumped into the Escape to drive around and see how wide of an area was without power since I wasn't sleepy due to the long nap. My power outage ( as there were many in the area ) turned out to be about a 2 mile square give or take. We'd gotten almost an inch of rain within the hour or so that it was going through and had up to 74 mph gusts. I'd heard a loud crack of a tree being ripped in two somewhere close when it came through, so it wasn't surprising to see bits of tree branches all over. During the drive, I came across a tree that was blocking half of the road in one place and a stop sign that had been blown over in another. Came back home after a bit and since it was still warm in the house, mostly just stood outside under the eve's of the house watching the back side of the storm as it left. There was some really nice lightning that I'd have liked to take pics of ... had it not still been sprinkling and the lightning was still too close by.
Finally went back in to try and get a bit of sleep. Around 8:25am... power finally came back online and with it... the AC. Finally got comfy again, rolled back over to get a few more winks. After getting back up, I see they've got another slight chance of storms forecast for around 1am again...

tis the season thank goodness you okays. I not wantuin any storms here. Lucky none yets. No air comditioners sucks afta a storm. Glad you okays.
Comet Neowise...
I originally planned to drive outside of town slightly for any of the pics I was going to attempt to take of the comet. Having a poor nights sleep the night before, I chose to be a little lazy and just went into my front yard for this shot. I was just barely able to find it by averting my eyes slightly from where I thought it was going to be. Got the shot right off the bat which considering I couldn't actually see it in the viewfinder, I took as a win. I then took a series of shots at different ISO settings and times so I could pick from the better of them. Hopefully, the next ones I try to get will be better since the best night should be next Weds or Thurs ...
To find the comet I recommend using binoculars if possible... the bigger the front lens the better, magnification won't matter. If you can find the Big Dipper in the NW sky, tonight, the comet is straight down from it towards the horizon right where the front paw would be. It will be moving up and towards the west almost reaching the rear paw by Weds-Thurs.
