The lack of caring for the family is amazing.I have been here for 3hrs and only got to pop in for a minute. Its emotionally exhausting just trying to figure out WTH is going on half the time. They said I could see him at 8,then asked me to come back at 9,then said come back at 10.Thank god I insisted on seeing him earlier or I would be a wreck right now.

Will you get a chance to talk to his Dr. I've had to let my husbands Dr know things the staff was doing. At least with the Dr they can let you know why or hopefully talk to the staff about the attitude. I'm so sorry you're being treated this way, they need to know the patients family is an important part of the healing process.

Oh no Keyzy. So sorry you are having to deal with this. Pray that you get to spend some time with him soon....

Hugs....

We live in a rural area. My hubby had a procedure last week by a specialist at a hospital in a town not to far from us. Don (their words) "scared them to death" during recovery. The hr in recovery turned into 4 hrs, but they were good about keeping me informed or as informed as they could. They had even came and told me that the surgery was going to take longer than anticipated instead of letting me just sit there worrying. When I told my son, he said that if we had gone to Tulsa to have it done that we would not have had that consideration. I am not sure that our local hospital would either. Specialist decided Monday that best to do another procedure now, so he is scheduled for tomorrow. Don can not understand why I seem to be more antsy over this time than the first because he was out of it or doesn't remember what transpired. Does help me to be going where I know they will keep me informed. Not only that, someone was always asking me if I needed something or needed help if I was walking down the hall even.

I do hope that you and Jeff don't have to put up with this the whole time you are there.

Mike is mine..Jeff is Keyzy's! Keyzy..are you sure we weren't separated at Birth? They are so lucky it wasn't me that they gave the runaround to..I have been known to get a bit loud..some cringe when I hit the door!
I knew he would be doing good today. I hope he is in the cardiac care unit tomorrow (no nurses guarding the gates and longer visiting hours) Love and prayers still coming your way!

Update on Mike: we went to the V.A. today thinking we would get results for his tests and a chance to see the Radiology Dr. and unit. We thought they would give us the radiation schedule. Wrong.
The appointment was for 9:30..we were there at 10 till 9. We didn't get called untill 11:30! Then we saw a nurse practitioner, not what we were told. She said as far as they could tell the cancer hasn't spread, but since the type and grade he has is aggressive they can't be possitive. Thanks for nothing. Then she said they would schedule an appointment to see the Dr. I hit the roof..'For this we waited 2 1/2 hours and drove across the city? You could have done this on the damn phone! Then she had the nerve to ask when we wanted to schedule an appt. for blood work!
I stood up and told her to call the script down to the lab for whatever they needed..we would do it NOW! I also told her to call the house when it was time to see the Dr...we would come back only then. I left. I am sure Mike made nice after me, but I refused to back down.
I told Mike this stuff is much to stressful on him and me..by the time they get going it will have spread. I am just a bit p.o.ed if you haven't noticed!

MK lots of hugs...

You would have more then a right to get loud with what went on this morn and to be po'd...Just unreal. Can not understand why they are not starting his treatment regimen. Lack of words to even express all that is going through my mind.....
So sorry you and Mike are having to go through this. Your plate is running over....

Hugs and prayers for you both.
