So I had 2 ageis 1s and they were great. Milspec or almost milspec was the way to go. I understand their quality has dropped though. Basically I just wander a mod that lasts a while and has ok temp control. Do I have to pay over a hundred for some artisanal Stabwood artwork or is there something factory made but reasonably rugged? (I drop things)

I used to love TC on the first Aegis mods too. Unfortunately, with the new Series 3 that came out mid 2024, they completely ruined temperature control. So my advice is to see if you can find a used one. A mod with that price, durability, and TC accuracy will probably never come out again.

Then there's the Pico eleaf 75 or Mega route, where you can install Arctic Fox. I'm not exactly sure when eleaf started using Type-C ports, which makes it impossible to flash Arctic Fox, but maybe it's still possible on the Pico 25, X, and S models too.

Ok, dump good TC. Reliability is most important. I want something that lasts a while and doesn’t break. Does geek vape still do Milspec they just have crap TC?

If by mil-spec you mean shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof — then yes, if I remember correctly, it's rated IP68. And of course, you’ll need to choose between a single-battery (Solo III) or a dual-battery setup (Legend III). The dual version has the advantage of being quite compact if compared to the Solo III.

It still has TC, but it auto-locks the coil resistance when you screw in the atomizer. They’ve removed the preinstalled material profiles, so you’ll need to manually set the TCR. The accuracy isn’t on par with the older chip either. Still, you might find it usable — with a bit of patience, you can probably dial it in to your liking.

So the one I can recommend is quite expensive but it's definitely at least ruggedized. Lost vape hyperion, it's a DNA mod, if you are into that, but that's why so expensive. Ip 68, rubber on all the corners and I too drop mine constantly. First one lasted maybe 3 or 4 years but I was dropping it on carpet. Second one was maybe two years being dropped on hardwood all the time. Probably hundred plus drops.
