hey guys! im building a mini mag mod right now for use with 510 attys. the mag light holds 2 AAA batteries. what batteries should i use to power this thing?
That's not really a good choice for a Joye 510 mod. You are stuck using 10440 320mAh batteries. One will be overtaxed, and if you can get two in there (7V+) you will have to tone the voltage with either a resistor or a regulator.
If it's a 3.7V device you want one of the cheap often used flashlights would make more sense. You can easily get a 14500 (not ideal but much better than a 10440) or a 18500 1600mAh which will power a Joye atty quite nicely (a good often overlooked batt). It also does a decent job with the new LR atties.
And if you've only used your 510 with standard e-cig batt's the 18500 will up your power (watts/heat) by at least 40% while lasting as long as about 6+ standard 510 batts.
so theres no AAA size batts that produce 3v? im looking to try a 5-6v mod and i already have this thing built lol.
:edit:
i have an idea. if i can get 2 of them in there what i can do is put a thin spacer between the batteries and run them in parallel. just have to see how much clearance ill have in there

No battery, fresh charge or not, vapes at 4.2V. And I would not consider 2.4Ω as a Standard Joye 510. Mine have always come in at 2.1-2.2Ω (two different meters).
If I understand correctly you are using a true charger (not a cell phone 'charger' which is actually just a power supply) which you've attached some leads, which run to your device's batteries? Should work fine.
Well, if you wanted to go with NiMH you could use 4, 1/2 AAA cells. You would get 4.8 volts in the same amount of space, and probably 3-400 mah. You'd need a new charger though, and I'm pretty sure that 1/2 AAA are scarce.
