So I bought this new tank thinking it was the best thing ever. The flavor and vapor production was great for a few days then it started leaking and flooding. It gurgle and floods to the point to where I might as well just have a straw in my tank and suck on that. I'm about to throw the thing away, it's leaking into the coil and when I take a vape I get nothing but e liquid in my mouth. It has to be leaking where the chimney meets the coil head but nothing I do will fix it.

Please tell me there is a fix for this!!!

Dude, I suggest,
Get ur self a kayfun, taifun, aqua, genesis style RTA, this kanger coils are design to be flooded after a specific number of hits... If you are lazy to build ur own coils I suggest go to the nearest vape store

Yeahhh, I've been wanting to get a nice mod and start rebuilding for a while. I guess this is my excuse.

hmmm. Sounds like flavor wick(s) aren't in place. Have you tried another head? I had this happen with a head I fiddled with a bit too much. Oops.

If you don't have another head, you might want to try replacing the flavor wick with cotton.

I did have some minor flooding problems with my protanks until I got variable airflow bases for them, but it wasn't bad at all.

Only other thing I can think of is to check the integrity of the silicon gasket right above the flavor wicks.

What device are you using this on?

Try this: Dry the chimney and silicone cap, screw it back on, tap the drip tip like an old thermometer (onto a napkin), then finally blow through the drip tip really hard onto the same napkin. Wipe it clean then put it back on your device and take a few gentle pulls. Hopefully that helps!

Its definitely the wicks flooding and spitting is when I know I need to rewick. Pop the chimney off tweez out the silica wick nasty stuff by the way get a little piece of cotton ball twist one end feed it through your coil trim it place a small amount over the coil (flavor wick) replace chimney! This is the best pre RDA training IMO. Try it out let us know how it works out. Vape on!

Well this new head I have is quite different from the heads that came with it. There are no external wicks and the chimney seems really hard to come off (actually haven't been able to pry it off ). I do have extra heads and I will try one of those. I've tried to rebuild the old head with the stock wicks but they've been entirely too short. I need to get some kanthal and give it another go.

I really think I might grab a mvp and a good RBA and go to town. I'd like to drip but I feel like its pointless unless your sub ohm?? Anyway, I'll pop in a new head when I get back home and give that a try.

Edit: when I saI'd "entirely too short" I meant the coil ends

I did notice that when I popped the first head open there was hardly any wick. I could easily imagine how it could get flooded. These new heads however are a little difficult and all around strange. I'll try to find a link if anyone is wondering what I am talking about

Dude, op was asking for help on the mini pt3, your post wasn't too helpful. And no, they're not designed to be flooded after a specific number of hits.

1) check if the translucent/ white grommet is flush with the centre tube when fully assembled.

2) Uncrew base. Check if head/coil unit is screwed tightly onto base.

3) Take the translucent/white grommet off and check if the centre tube (the tube on the head unit) is assembled properly.

4) Unscrew the head from the base and examine the slots where the wicks come out. With the translucent/white grommet in place, there shouldn't be any gaps when wicks are saturated.

Yeah unfortunately I have done all of that. I'm going to pop in a new coil and see how that works. These new coils have the slot for the wicks, however they look like they're contained inside the head as opposed to sticking out like normal. They may not be authentic.

IntoAFly, if the slots do nor have the wicks sticking out, therein lies the problem. It will definitely leak. Maybe a picture of the head would help.
Here's a pic of a new head I just took out of the blister pack. The wicks are contained inside the head itself. I also have a smoktech tdux that uses this same type of wicking system, I've never seen this before and it may be why I'm having my problems with the protank

Those are the new dual heads from Kanger. They are for the protank 3s and aerotanks. If you have a pt3 you should be fine.
Yeah mini protank 3 is what I have. They fit and vape and says on the box they fit pretty much all newer kanger tanks.

I have noticed they get really effin hot. These are 2.0 ohm and I didn't have that problem with the 1.5's. I kinda like the old heads better

I've read that kanger changed the heads design to make it harder to recoil the heads. Didn't pay much attention to it as I use the old heads that I have and recoil them. Looks like you have the new heads.

Fret not. You can use the heads from kanger t3,t3s,protank, protank 3. All are confirmed compatible on the mini pt3 as I have used them. Evods, pt2, etc will probably work too, but I don't have those clearo heads to confirm. I just want to give information that I have tried and verified myself.

Fastech had the old heads (not kanger, but they're compatible). You might want to take a look. But be warned, might take some time to get to you. From what I've read, choose the e-packet shipping option if you're from the States to get it in a shorter time.

Edit: and the heads I'm talking about are single coil. They work just fine on the mini pt3.

Yes these new heads are impossible to rebuild, the old ones were actually fairly easy. A single coil head would probably be pretty good on a mini 3. I'll have to look into it
