Hi All.

Anyone had problems with the mini protank II discoloring their juice?

I have had mine for 3 weeks and everything was ok until start this week.. I usually use Lime bomb or Mint mix which are both clear to an extent but after an hour or so of using the liquid turns more of a brown / nicotine color...

I have tried taking it apart and cleaning it all out but it still seems to do it... what could be causing it?

I wouldn't totally rule out the juice being a cause of the discoloration. Sure the gunked up coil can cause a discoloration but when nicotine oxidizes it turns a darker color. It is a known fact that heat causes oxidization to occur more rapidly and since your juice is contained in a small area this reaction can produce the discoloration much quicker than if it were in a larger container. It is one of the effects that people notice from steeping. If it does not taste burnt then I wouldn't worry about having to wash it out all the time. If it does taste burnt you may want to check your coil and do a dry burn and cleaning to it or rebuild/replace the coil itself.

I use a mini Protank, with a homemade coil/cotton wool. There is no change of colour (in the juice) vaping at up to 11 watts. Even crystal clear liquids do not discolour. It all comes down to the coil.

I know steeping darkens juice (I have some vintage Grant's Vanilla Custard which is 18 months old - it's black).

Have you tried that treacle yet?
