Hello all, I had been using an Ego 1100 mAh battery with Boge Cartomizers and decided to switch to a Mini Vivi tank and an adjustable Vision Spinner 1300 mAh battery.

I have two tanks, one is clear that I use with 50/50 cotton candy liquid e-liquid and the other is a steel tube with 50/50 Lemonade. I have had no problems with the cotton candy carto but the one with the lemonade liquid is giving me fits. It's the cartomizer that's giving me trouble.

The first cartomizer I used was fine until I went to re-fill it (I use a needle & syringe). The little plastic thing on the left, along with the metal thing that goes inside it came off when I took the top off to refill it. I have big hands but was able to put them back on, only to have them shift after I tightened the top down. It kept doing it so I tried a new cartomizer, only to have it do the same thing. I've had no issues with the other tank that I'm using with the cotton candy liquid.

Any feedback and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

The Vivi Novas come apart so that you can get at the insides. Are you trying to work through the top of the tank? Remove the top cap and the bottom cap and you are left with just the tube that screws onto the bottom cap. The tube is removable and replaceable.

You might want to completely disassemble it and wash the juice off the steel parts and the silicone tube at the top, then reassemble. It won't stick and hold well if it's covered in juice.

Thank you for the advice, I will try that. Any tips on how to get that little metal part to stay put while putting the silicone piece over it?
I removed the cartomizer from the tube to work on it. I'm just confused as to why this didn't happen on my other unit and this one is giving me fits. Every time I go to add liquid to this one I have problems with that little silicone piece moving and getting a mouth full of liquid.

Bill put that little metal piece into one end of the silicone sleeve- just enough so that the flat side sits flush with the end of the sleeve. Then put the flat side on top of the atty and gently push the sleeve down to the wicks. That metal piece inside should now be sitting flush on top of the atty. I always used to screw my atty on hand tight before I put that sleeve on. Other than that, the only time I would mess with those pieces is when I would take it apart to clean it or replace the head. Hope this helps.

My silicone sleeve is a lot wider than that round metal part. So much so that it flips over when I try to put the metal part in there before setting it on the atomizer. Maybe I got some bad ones.

There is something wrong here. the silicone sleeve should fit snugly over the head. You should need just a little bit of pressure to get it on and down so it sits just above but almost even with the wick and coil.

Edit- the metal part should also be snug inside the sleeve.

Do you have any extra heads for your novas.

I would clean your tank out, assemble the head, put tank on, fill with syringe and screw top on careful and not too tight. Just snug.

I would also get an ego sleeve to protect everything. Make everything seamless.

eGo Cone Thread Sleeves : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

I cleaned out the tank and head and was able to keep that silicone piece and metal part on the head since there was no liquid to make it slip around. I'm still getting some liquid in my mouth (which I can't stand) despite taking long, slow hits.

I vape two flavors, which are Cotton Candy and Lemonade. The Lemonade liquid seems to give me more problems than the Cotton Candy one.

Vivi nova coil pack...the rubber cap goes on the long round stem

Authentic vivi nova, the tapered end of the metal sleeve goes upwards, the flat piece sits against the ring on the coil

Oh FYI

I ordered a 50 pack of these...

and I used to swear by top coil tanks...I now rock a ProTank 2 and other bottom coil tanks if that helps

Thanks for the information, greatly appreciated.

I'm going to use up the heads I have and see if I can get used to these tanks. Will the ProTank 2 work with a Vision battery? It's 1,300mAh.

absolutely...510 threading is the industry standard....eGo threading is too...the Protank 2 mini is eGo threaded, the full size PT2 is 510

I actually like eGo threaded tanks as they have more meat grabbing the threads, and don't wobble as much and won't strip out the internal threads nearly as easily...but that's just personal preference

I have ordered these (they are bottom coil designed clearomizers)

Instead of using a syringe, get some of these: Blunt Tip Needle Cap - ECBlend. They cost less than a buck a piece & make life a lot simpler. I have a bunch & they have been great. Put your liquid in a 10 or 15ml bottle and when you're on the go there's no fooling around with a syringe which equals less mess.

Regarding the liquid in your mouth, the Novas are notorious for flooding- and also muting flavor. I used them for a long time and then switched to carto tanks. Huge difference. More flavor & no flooding. Carto tanks have their learning curve also, but I have found them to be much less time consuming & more hassle free. Just my 2 cents.

When you say that vivi novas are notorious for for flooding which vivi novas are you referring to? They aren't all the same. I have two plastic and two glass Vision mini vivi novas and never had a flooding or leaking problem with any of them. I have received poorly made heads on occasion and had to recoil a couple. That's two out of about twenty. The only other problem I have with the heads is that the ohms are not always what they supposed to be. With a vv it's not a problem for me but I can see where it would be for others. I only use Vision minis so I can't speak for other sizes or brands.

As for convenience unscrewing the top and just pouring some juice in is hard to beat. The heads are easily replaceable and in a pinch they they are easy to recoil.

I also use Kanger Evod bottom coil tanks. I think they are more rugged because of the extra Ego thread. I never had any problems with them even though I use them in situations where the will they get rougher handling. I don't like the Evods as much because with bottom coils the vapor has to travel farther to the mouthpiece. This gives a cooler vape and creates more condensation. I can overcome that to some extent by rasing the voltage and it's good enough for the times I need them.

Wow, those are nice. I have 10 new Vivi heads to use up but if I continue to be frustrated I will go with a bottom coil type and give the Vivi to the wife.

I've been using a mini vivi nova and have yet to have any problems with it i would say pull all apart and rebuild it and put a new coil in it and try again

I've used 3 different heads with this unit already, all brand new. I have a 2.4ohm in there now with the battery on 3.3volts and it's decent as long as I don't take one hit after the other. Even after 2 puffs, it tastes burnt. It's a 50/50 Lemonade flavor from a vendor on here.

I've been vaping Cotton Candy flavor in the other Vivi Mini with no issues other than some liquid in my mouth but I've been getting the hang of how hard you can hit these things so that's much less of an issue now.
