Minor annoyance with the MVP.

This is my first mod?(correct terminology?) after having an Ego C-twist, and overall I'm digging the feel of it and the battery life seems great! Plus being able to charge other electronics off of it is pretty ....! The issue I'm having is the power button. It's not clicky enough I guess... The same pressure will give me a hit 50 times, but then there is those few times where nothing happens and I'm just pressing the button with no result. Is that a common issue with these? I'm also not too sure about the puff counter reseting if I accidentally click it three times quickly(like when it's not hitting) and it turns off. Seemed like the five click on/off E-go system was better imo. The second issue is just preference I suppose, but has anyone else had problems with the button being somewhat unreliable? Maybe a bad contact? Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated, so thanks in advance!

It was a known issue that when first released the MVP2 button had about a 2 lb press (see Pbusardo's review on youtube). The button will break in a little as you use it and you'll get used to the press pretty fast.

I have two MVP2's I bought in Nov. 2013 and Feb 2014 and the button for me is a very easy press (no more than my sigelei Zmax V3), but the position of the button is a little awkward and took some getting used to.

I moved to mechs after I had the MVP2 for a month. After being around people with mechs in comparison I wished I skipped the MVP. If you are sticking with lower end Evods and mini protanks it's great. But any drippers or genesis tanks and forget it.

Oh and I hated the light position too. And my button was different feeling than a buddies and we bought at the same brick and mortar. I found it worked best when I used the heel of my thumb if that makes sense. Vs the end or middle.

My bigger issue was the threads of the 510 gave out and wouldn't hold a thing after I popped on several nautilus tanks and a kraken a bunch throughout the day.

May I ask the reasoning in buying two or even three of the same mod? Just as backups or what?

I have two of the "Shine" edition one in green and one in pink and I have a regular MVP 2.0 in silver, so I guess you could call them backups of backups, but I want to collect the entire line of the "shine" edition which includes two black one with a skull, one with a quilted pattern, and a purple one with snow flakes on it. I also want to collect the whole energy line series...I love these durable little mods what can I say lol Plus I want to collect all four of the MVP 2.0s the two blacks, the silver one (because the silver one I have is junk) and the blue one. Like I said I love them and next to the ProVari they have the best flavor of the VV/VW mods out there! Like you said if that is what you want to call them. Hope that answers your question Bacardimarty.

Just wanted to chime in here with a suggestion I haven't seen mentioned yet...Now, I could be wrong but with my MVP and several different tanks I owned, I actually had to either pull the 510 contact pin on my MVP up (a common issue due to the floating pin design) or pull the contact pin on my tank(s) out a little bit because they would occasionally not make contact even when I never messed with them! If you haven't already, then the next time this happens to you, be sure to press and hold both the 'P' and 'U' buttons on the side of your device to check your atomizer resistance to make sure it is making contact. If the display reads 'non', then that would most likely be the issue.

If this is not case, then I would take the suggestion of others' and first see if you can "break it in". But don't wait too long - because if something is wrong with your MVP, you better get it fixed/replaced before the warranty expires!

I disagree. I drip all day long on an MVP. I don't need big clouds or to burn through juice like crazy. The MVP can handle anything over 1 ohm just fine. Mechs aren't a requirement for dripping.

I don't have any issues with the button not firing. (I do agree with the green light being placed oddly.)

Definitely a defect. The MVP is pretty well built and I have never (in my 2 months owning it) have had it not fire when I wanted it to. Either that or you are just pressing it in a weird position, like on the side maybe?

I used to say the same thing...until I first tried sub-ohm. You are 100% right that it is fine at high resistance, but man oh man using a dripper at 0.2-0.5 ohms is a whole different experience!

My reason, in addition to the backup and appearance ones, is that I have two main flavors that I alternate between. It is way easier to have each one on a different PV than to constantly switch toppers. I like my VV3s and MVPs, so I don't see a need to get different brands/styles.

FYI, the button on the MVP is a pain to use compared to the VV3, but the extra battery life is worth it most of the time. Check out http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ussion/473345-itaste-mvp-v2-owners-group.html and http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...59634-fixing-mvp-vv3-contact-issue-guide.html for more info and multiple ways to solve the floating pin issue.

When I bought the MVP's, last summer, I was told that they were "the best" so I bought 2. Then I started to have the pin issues.
After doing tons of research, I found that the ProVari was far superior. Now I have 3 of those and never use the MVP's.
I also have different tanks on different mods so that I don't always have to change them out. The only "extras" I carry with me are batteries.

It doesn't change what I said. Dripping is fine on an MVP. Yes, a mech is different.
