I think the Provari is great, but the only real issue I have is out of two of them they seem to misfire, this does not happen a lot maybe once every 15 pushes on the button. I find that I push on the button more on the left side and this may be the issue but it does happen.

My Provari allways fires, its never been dropped yet.. Now my Provape1 has been dropped numerous times and in the past when dropped it would not fire? Strange? I would remove the battery and reinsert it, then it would fire up agian..... I belive its the pitfalls of a chip controled mod..........Thats one thing I like about an all mechinical mod. Really nothing to go wrong...... But come on who am I kidding, the only mod I use now is my Provari..... Nothing can compare to the performance of a VV Mod...... Just treat them with respect (Dont drop them).

Heh, this makes me worry. I'm over here in Afghanistan vaping on a GLV right now.. I've put it through more than I expected it to handle, and it's doing well. Scratched and scuffed pretty bad, but still hits like it did when I got it. Maybe I won't be taking my ProVari out on patrol with me... :?:

Don't worry,the provari's purty tuff.
which one would you rather lose?

I don't know, I'm pretty sure a mechanical unit will hold up more, so I may just take my GLV with me on patrol, and keep my ProVari back on the base.

Really the Provaris are very durable...... We need a feild test of one. Take it out on patrol, plus once you use a Provari nothing else will satisfy...........

Try checking to see if maybe the board is out of place . I just tried everything to get it to misfire on my 2 and havent been able to .My old black one never misfired either. I can see it misfiring if the whole circuit board was to slide up a bit though. You would notice this if the display isnt perfectly centered in the window.

I can actually see the provari possibly holding up more then a mechanical mod and i dont say that often . Reason why is the button on the provari has the clear button cover that is actually much bigger then the actual button and it goes flush with the tubes so virtually unbreakable and nothing can really reach the actual electrical button.

I've noticed something similar with mine. It fires then cuts out for a second then fires up again. All while the button is held down. Only happens every 10 hits or so

I have noticed similar, happens occasionally on all my provaris. I personally think its a software thing, its a minor nuisance much like the menu activating after 5 vapes, so I just put up with it. Of course, I'm a software engineer, so I might be naturally leaping to a software cause out of habit, perhaps its electronic, but I'm 99.98% sure its not mechanical.

Well, if the guys want a good ProVape guys need a good field test, I'll be more than willing to oblige if they can replace it when it does finally stop working =P

I would like to see how it holds up. What type of things will it have to hold up to?

I tried recreating the button issue but cant on either of my vari's .How are you pressing the button when it happens? The menu popping up after 5 button pushes is what it should do if you press it 5 times within a short time.

Glad to see I'm not the only one rocking the Provari + GLV.. I've got a Mini-3 now, and a SuperMini on the way.. we'll see if it ever gets here.. :D GLV is soooo slow when it comes to producing those little bundles of awesome.

did we ever figure out what the problem is here? i've noticed this on my chrome blem. at first i thought it was the way i pushed the button, so i let go and repressed the button. no problem. the last time it happened, i had the button pressed and it fired for about 2 seconds then cut out for a second. then it fired up again without me moving my thumb on the button.

Well I received my unit the other day and was experiencing the same problem of mis-firing.
I posted a question about this over on another forum and folks there said that I may just be holding the button in too long as the Provari has a 16 second cut off safety mechanism which is a possibility and I also dropped Provape a message yesterday about this problem and here was their reply -

Hi Marcus,

I think I know what the problem is.

There is a plunger on the circuit board that when pressed down by the button, activates the board. Now, because the button floats on top of this plunger and because the menu is accessed through a series of pressure changes on the plunger (i.e. button pushes) if you do not apply firm, consistent pressure to the button, it can activate the menu function instead of firing the atomizer. What do I mean about firm, consistent pressure? I mean don't roll your thumb from side to side while you vape or waver with the pressure. Rolling your finger from one side to the other will change the pressure on the plunger and it will start to access the menu function. When it gets into menu function, it will stop firing.

I used to do this all the time myself when I first got my ProVari and I would even find myself in the power up or power down function... or even get the -- between functions. As soon as I realized that I was wavering on my pressure and became more consistent, this situation was drastically reduced.

Basically, no indecisive vaping is allowed on the ProVari (humor intended) :)

Kindly,
Cecilia

So I have followed the advice above and the advice about the 16 second cut out received over on the other forum and I have had no problems at all today...so the mis-firing problem may be yourselves causing this to happen and not the Provari.

I hope this helps anyone else experiencing this.
