I haven't touched an analogue for two days since I got my rechargeable e-cig, which is the first time in 10 years I've gone without a smoke.

Now I'm sat looking at the two carts I have got left sat on my desk and wondering why the hell I only bought 5 as a test.
5 carts, that's 5 days right?
Yeah right.

Looks like tomorrow I'm back on the analogues until I can order a new decent kit with refillables :(
I was doing so well, as well.

Feeling a little despondent right now, but over joyed that I've proved to everyone I don't need stinkies when I can vape.
Guess this is takes a bit of practice including how long stuff lasts (one thing I learnt is not to believe the manufacturers heheh)

Most of us started with those little carts with a grossly overestimated capacity. I supposse even though I felt ripped off later, they did get me started vaping and now it's been 19 months. If you can get some cartomizers, which are an atomizer and higher capacity cartridge combined, you may get a much longer use and the ability to refill them a number of times. Congratulations on moving away from the smokes!

Don't be disheartened. You proved to yourself a very valuable piece of information! You proved that this can work. The next step is to prepare and always have backups... and backups of backups. I got lucky and found a brick and mortar shop about 10 minutes from my home, so I could go there to get emergency supplies if needed. Maybe look around on the net for a store within driving distance.

Don't beat yourself up on this one, you know you can do it now just a matter of judging how much you use vs. what you have in stock.
I can agree that the cartomizers are way, way over judged in longevity when it comes to what is supposed to be. To get an idea when i had my blu I'd take what they said, cut the time by 3/4 and that's about how long they would last.
Also if your going to stick with it, look in to the eGo Tank system that they have, no messy carts to deal with and a clean, pure flavor that will get those juices pop'in ( oh, and longer battery life).
Its a game of seeing how much you use vs what you have in stock, when you get rolling on it then hide a juice bottle somewhere, each time you order swap it out for another..that way you will have emergency stuff on hand ( works with pre-filled cartomizers as well).
Hope this helps out a bit, just keep the faith and you've already proven you can do it, great job...I for one applaude you on your success thus far.

Yea I started on a njoy then went to a Blu and those little carts that you purchase only lasted about half a day for me. I then upgraded to an ego-t, this was when they were brand new on the market, and bought a bunch of extra tanks and liquid. Was a great purchase and have now upgraded into the tube mods. We all start somewhere and the fact you stopped smoking while using them is great! Keep going and remember, it's all up hill now and I am quite sure you will find it's a wonderful life after. Another portion is, ask questions and we will answer to ensure you get a great set of carts that work and you can enjoy. We always like hearing about people who go to vaping and love to help!.

Thanks all for the inspiration :)
It feels great to have backup from some nice guys!

I've told the Mrs I am in no uncertain terms a vapor not a smoker now and I don't want to go back to analogues even for a day or two, even though I've proved I can do it and I know I can do it again I'd rather not undo the past two days of great work.

Already considering driving the 30 miles to a specialist for advice and to pick up a kit rather than wait the couple of days online (does seem expensive though) and disposables are out of the question because that's money I could spend on a kit.
Unfortunately money is in a somewhat short supply till the wife's pay day at the mo, but baccy isn't (we've got 10 50g packs after a Europe run recently.)
I don't want to roll-ups, I want to vape so I'm going to do my best to make sure that happens :)

Well I've come to admit now I'll be back on the analogues temporarily until I can afford a kit next week.
Oh well, not going to beat myself up about it, just looking to the future.

Think I've decided on a kit to buy for my first proper PV.
The Weekender looks good from Electronic cigarette UK supplier. Performance e-cigs and e-liquid.
I like the fact it's a UK company and always believe in supporting local companies if I can, the reviews of the company are good as are the reviews for the PV itself.
Big battery, good prices with their 25% discount, I'm guessing this is a good kit for a newbie to go with?

Once my car MOT is out of the way on Monday I'm going to be selling a load of the excess tobacco we've got to fund my new toy.
If all goes well next week, I'll let people know how I get on :)

Again thanks for all the support, you've made me feel much better about a situation that was out of my control but making me feel unhappy :)

Hi Kibbster, I'm not sure what e-cig you have at the moment but you should be able to refill the cartomisers that came with it with e-liquid. OK, I know that's not going to help you right now, but you might get by with just adding some Vegetable Glycerine (you can buy a small bottle from the baking section of most supermarkets for about 50p) to your "used up" cartomisers.

I'd actually go for this kit instead (using discount code AAEC for 12.5% off) -

Exhale Ego CE5 Starter Kit.

And here is a list of other good UK vendors -

ALL ABOUT E-CIGARETTES UK - E-cigarette/E-liquid Vendors List + discount codes

BTW, we have quite a lot of members round the Bristol area on AAE-C UK & there might even be one that could help you out with some e-liquid.

Hi Chrissie,
Thanks for the advice unfortunately I'm using a 10 Motives rechargeable at the moment (only bought it because I had tried the disposables) and they are disposable carts not refillable :(

What is the advantage of that kit you've linked over the Weekender?
Sorry I'm still a bit of a vaping newb.
I like the big battery on the Weekender, but will happily buy another product if people think it will suit my needs more.
I'd much rather buy just one kit at the moment so don't mind paying a few £ extra if it's right for me (I like the 10 motives rechargeable but it's not very adventurous with no different flavours and disposable carts aren't what I want now.)

Further on down the line when I get more vaping under my belt I'll probably start collecting kit like mad and spend way too much for my hobby I'll probably even start modding... I never leave anything standard for long and I'm sure e-cigs will be the same ;)

Lovely to know there's some local vapers to me, I can feel myself getting pulled into the "scene" already.
Much no doubt to the wife's head shaking bemusement lol

I'm working on converting my neighbor to vaping, he had a vape on mine last night and liked it.
Told me I should work as a salesman for them, hoping that means I'm enthusiastic about vaping and not that I'm a holier than thou evangelist ;)
But no matter, I think vaping speaks for itself to most smokers (lets be honest, how many smokers want to die from their habit, no matter how much they love it?)

I'm fairly certain you should be able to refill your 10 motives cartomisers.

The Weekender looks like it is some kind of T type tank system & they are known to have issues with leaking. The CE5 clearomisers that come with the ego kit I linked to are far better. Here is a link to another excellent kit from a highly respected UK vendor - the Riva batteries will last longer between recharges than th ego kit I linked to. Use discount ECF10 for 10% off -

The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

Ah brilliant!
I was looking at the Riva kit before and it looks good value for money as well as a big battery.
Could be perfect thanks :)

The 10 motives ones are here V2 Rechargeable Electronic Cigarette - Rechargeables and I'm 99% sure they can't be refilled unless there's a clever way of doing it I don't know about, they look like a sealed unit.

Make the drive.. seriously. I drove over an hour my first week to get to a brick and mortar store.. will never regret it. There is nothing like live demo and juice tasting before you buy. I don't know if most stores do that, but the one I went to - mixed on the spot and let me sample .. I came home with more than I planned but I haven't run out of juice - which I was in serious danger of with my crap starter kit - and I sent that sucker back before my 30 day warantee was up.. such a let down that product was .. I ended up with Volts by smokeless image and am very happy.

Thanks opal but the wife has taken the bank card with her today (I suspect to stop me going out and getting over excited in a store - she knows me too well haha)

I'm going to have to wait till next week to order a kit, but that's ok, more time to research and ask questions so I can make the right decision.
Not that I regret my first e-cig, even though it's not exactly right for me it showed me it can be done and introduced me to this fascinating world of vaping.
It's probably (hopefully) the first step to eventually saving my life and enabling me to see my son grow up and get married and have kids.
It's a no brainer really isn't it :)

Kibbster, you can pop the cap of the top the cartomiser and slowly drip juice in, I know this because I did this out of desperation whilst waiting for my vapemail when I started vaping. They will tell you, you're not meant to do it and they sure as heck don't advertise that you can do it but with a little fiddling it can be done.

Best of luck and welcome to ECF.

I learned a lot on here and on Youtube. I buy blank cartomizers and refill them myself. And don't beat your self up about smoking again. When I started I wasn't even planning on quitting, it was going to be for the house and car and I was going to smoke at work. Only thing the reg cigs started tasting nasty!

And once you get in a routine theres nothing too it! I use 3 cartos all week, each night before I go to bed I fill them up and throw them in my case in the morning and Im good for the day. Takes a shorter time then driving to the store and buying my cigs! LOL

...snip...

It's just a "checking it out" thing. Now you can make plans to go forward! Don't kick yourself, or defeat yourself, before you even begin! This is good news.... because IT WORKED. Now you've investigated e-cigs, are making purchase plans, and wrapping your head around the concept. Give it a chance!

Good luck and

Really?
Oh that is interesting, thank you.

Nice to know in future if I need a backup, my 10 motives will still be there :)
