I tried leaving a comment but kept getting a message "We're sorry. We cannot accept this data."

Update: Discovered there is an email link, so I copied my comment text into an email and sent it off.

Still waiting a response. It should arrive shortly after I get a response from the FDA to my questions about the quantity of carcinogens and antifreeze measured in the vapor.

Here's my comment awaiting moderation:
Isn't it the CDC who estimates over 400,000 Americans die every year from the byproducts of tobacco combustion "making traditional cigarettes the bad guy"? Even if you don't believe the CDC's estimates, there is no question that inhaling smoke is bad for your health and offensive to people around you.

It should also be pointed out that the FDA found trace levels of tobacco related nitrosamines that are commensurate with those found in FDA approved products like the nicotine patch or inhalator. The FDA did not detect ANY carcinogens or toxins in the vapor itself.

You can read the FDA's report as well as several other laboratory reports on smoke-free alternatives here: CASAA.org

The FDA has a glaring conflict of interest. They are attempting to shoehorn e-cigarettes as a drug-device combination product in order to protect the vested interests of the pharmaceutical companies that "sponsor" the FDA and AMA.

Instead of attempting to ban e-cigarettes that, to date, have not been linked to a single death or serious injury...perhaps we should consider banning Chantix that has been implicated in at least 92 completed suicides and shows a strong link to violence toward others? No, instead the FDA and AMA and all the other so called "public health" organizations who receive a majority of their funding from Big Pharma are RECOMMENDING Chantix and NRT drugs for all smokers...in spite of the fact that the majority of people who successfully quit smoking do so without any pharmaceuticals. They've lied to us about the relative harm of tobacco for the past 30 years and now they are trying to protect their monopoly...

I urge you to carefully read the actual reports for yourself. Although the FDA's report on e-cigarettes actually shows them to be at least 99% safer than combustible tobacco, they released a Press Release that has misled many. Don't believe the lies, and don't take my word for it--read it for yourself.
