MIT Smokeymizer CE3 leaking right out of the carton.

I got some CE3 Cartomizers today and was excited to try them out. They are the first zero filler cartomizer that I have tried and things started out really bad. The coil is at the bottom. When I filled the first one things looked ok untill I saw my hand was covered with e-liquid. The liquid leaked out of the battery connection and air intake holes and fast. Not a slow drip, I mean I had almost 1 ml of liquid in my palm within a few seconds. Within another 10 to 20 seconds the rest of the e-liquid had dripped out and at this point into paper towel. That was about 1 to 2 ml of juice wasted. (Not sure exactly how much they hold at the moment)
This was surprising as I thought they would be constructed way better. The packaging was awsome, came with a cool little instruction card, drip tip with extra plug, a flat tip needle for filling and tweezers. I tried another one and didn't fill it as much and it started getting the same result. I tryed one of them anyway and it gurgled at first but worked ok. I have the 2.8 to 3.1 ohm ones and using them on the Lavatube at around 3.7 to 5 volts. Goes through the liquid fast at 5v but thats also cause I am not filling them very much at a time. The only thing I can think of is that maybe i should be filling them whyle they are on the battery or in a plug so that the liquid can't leak out as eassy. The 510 connection on the LT is sealed so no worry of juice getting into the battery. Anyway not impressed. Way more happy with the high resistance 510 atomizer that i use with a drip tip. I am new to dripping and so far I love it although not very practical for going out. So I am continueing my search for a tank type system that doesn't leak. Next will be the Vision Clearomizers with the coil on top. Im thinking there will be nowhere for the liquid to leak from with those. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers, Vape 0n

This is my rule of thumb -

If it's clear then it's new and it may not work well at doing anything other than attracting new vapers. In general clear stuff is inconsistent and can leak or give burnt tastes or sometimes crack or fall apart. Don't buy these things and expect to depend on them. Depend on metal cartos and experiment with clear ones.

When you research clear stuff here, do it with the mindset that it probably has problems. Don't be blind to bad reviews.

You can tell there is problems when suppliers list production dates and version 2, 3 and so on. The other ones I got with my last order have LED's in them to light them up. If they had to include that feature just to sell them I can just imagine how well they are going to work. lol. Wish I just got the CE2 version with the coil on top.

Just wanted to add this. I feel really stupid. I didn't use the cart cap before filling. I have been told that you need it so there is a vacuume within the cartomizer befor filling. Then when you plug the feeder hole after filling, the vacuum remains inside the cartomizer and then you can take the plastic cap off. I will let everyone know what happens as I have not tried them again.

Be very careful with the smokeymizers...they've been know to fry proprietary batteries. Don't screw them on real tight..just enough for it to make contact with your battery. I've never tried them because I gave up on ce2's and the likes. I used to love them but the tinkering got to be too much of a hassle.

I just got some ce3 mits, managed to get it filled, but it continues to leak on battery end. Guess I should have done more reading before I got all excited about this product. Not a fan....

The key is to put the plug on the bottom and keep it tilted while filling. I got a couple packs of these to try, and following the fill method in the video I haven't had any leakage.

Overall, they work okay, but I prefer a top coil design with warmer vapor. If you want to try another clearomizer, I would suggest Visions from GotVapes. They come in a variety of sizes, I've tried the Nano, Micro, and Regular. The Regular is great, works well, no leaking, easy to clean. The Nano and Micro are nice if you want a slightly slimmer/smaller size, but the mouthpiece is a little different and I do notice a little leaking with them. Overall though, I really really like them. You can find them on other sites too, but GotVapes is the cheapest I've seen, unless you're ordering from China.

Here we go again. A million complaint about a pretty decent product because the manufacturer omitted the instruction to put the condom on the battery end until the little black plug is re-inserted after filling. You don't need to tip them sideways or anything else. Just keep the condom on. The air pressure will prevent them from leaking until the little plug is back in place. After that, vacuum will keep them from leaking. There may be a drop in the condom, but usually not.

Do that and it won't leak. Period. If a little seepage happens at the bottom, just twist them a little when they're on the battery. They're made to come apart there for cleaning. The type of plastic is not that hard polycarbonate, so they won't crack with a hundred different juices. But that means that sometimes they come out of the factory not as tight as they need to be around the bottom fitting. There is a silicon o-ring there and sometimes it needs to be reseated at little bit.

Unlike CE2s, you won't have to take out, flip, cut or trim any plastic plugs. You won't need to fluff wicks. There's very little tweaking to be done.

I've used the CE3's for a couple weeks now. I use thick juice and the CE2 types don't wick right, so I need a bottom coil. These are the best, cleanest cartos I've tried. Just put the condom on them and they'll work just fine.

That said, there's one issue I've heard but never experienced. The insulator ring on some of them has been narrower or defective or something. This has caused the pos. and neg. poles to touch, resulting in shorting some eGo type batts. For some reason, it only seems to have happened on eGo batts. So, just look at the insulator ring and make sure it's consistent and don't torque down too hard and you'll be fine.

On second thought. Due to all the whining and moaning, they've been discontinued. So don't buy them. They're terrible. I'll be glad to take them off your hands and I'll look forward to the clearance sales.

No, he's talking about CE3 Smokymizers. Totally different animal and not many places carry them anymore because of all the whining about leaking and the problem with eGos shorting.

Yeah CE2's and CE3's looked awesome, and my CE2's didn't leak at all, but they tasted like burnt plastic. Which is scary because that's got to be worse for you than smoking analogs.

If I see CE I just stay the hell away now.

I know you weren't bashing the product. It's just that they are different enough that that wouldn't work. The ones in the vid are a lot like the G4s. You have to fill those at a slant and put the cap the rest of the way in while they're upside down or the juice will pour straight through. The CE3's have a solid baffle at the top with a little plug you have to remove with tweezers and fill with a syringe. If that plug is out and there's no condom on the connector, it'll pour right out, slant or no slant.

That's the problem with CE2s and wicking. The coil gets dry and the plastic plugs are too close to it. So they burn. Therefore, all the wick flufing and plasic plug surgery and removal. The CE3's don't have plugs or gaskets except a tiny fill plug at the top. The coil's at the bottom, so it doesn't get dry. Even if it did, there's nothing for it to burn. If they fixed the insulator problem, they'd be nearly perfect, if a little fiddly to fill.
